So far the dates of Indian Premier League and Pakistan Super League have never clashed, but the situation is looking different in 2025. Now it remains to be seen how much damage it causes to the PCB.
IPL vs PSL
All the legendary cricketers of the world play in both Indian Premier League (IPL) and Pakistan Super League (PSL). The dates of these two T20 leagues will clash in 2025 and it remains to be seen which league the foreign players prefer. As per the amount of money the players get in the IPL, the PSL could suffer a huge loss. In fact, Pakistan’s home season in 2025 is very busy, including hosting the ICC Champions Trophy.
IPL will be held from March to early June
The IPL has a window of about two and a half months, which will be from March to early June. On the other hand, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has to shift the PSL window from January-February to March-May due to busy schedule. Pakistan will host the Champions Trophy in February 2025.
IPL and PSL dates will clash
This will be the first time that the dates of IPL and PSL will clash. The 2025 Champions Trophy will be the first ICC tournament to be held in Pakistan in thirty years. In the last three ICC FTPs, Pakistan did not get the chance to host any ICC tournament due to security reasons. In the current FTP, Pakistan is scheduled to play 13 Tests, 26 ODIs and 27 T20 Internationals.
