Sanjay Raut, known as the closest and trusted leader of Shiv Sena, Uddhav Thackeray, has been embroiled in the Patrachala scam. This chapter deals with Vadhavan Bandhu. While Wadhawan Bandhu was being searched by CBI, ED, Maharashtra Police, he reached his bungalow in Mahabaleshwar along with more than three dozen family members in 2020 despite the strict lockdown with a special letter from the then Home Secretary.
That Home Secretary Amitabh Gupta is currently the Police Commissioner of Pune. There is Patrawala Chal at Goregaon in Mumbai. The redevelopment of this walk was taken up in 2010. Rakesh Kumar Wadhawan and Sarang Kumar Wadhawan and Sanjay Raut’s close friend Praveen Raut’s Guruashish Construction Company with Patrawala Chal Society, Mhada and Guruashish Construction Company were signed between three parties.
According to this agreement, construction was to be done on the site. Out of that 3000 flats were to be given to Mahada. 672 flats were to be given to the original residents, while the remaining space was to be sold by Guruashish Company. However, keeping the redevelopment incomplete, Guruashish Construction Company gave false information to Mhada and sold the FSI of the plot to nine others.
Out of this, the company received Rs. 901.79 crore was received. Mhada did not get the flat he was expecting. Uppant Guruashish Company announced to set up a new project on the same site. By booking that project flat Rs. 138 crores he got. Thus, a complaint was lodged with the Mumbai Police by the Executive Engineer of Mhada that a total of 1039.79 crores had been swindled. Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch arrested Praveen Raut in 2018 after questioning him in the case.
How to enter ED?
During all this, Wadhwa received Rs. 100 crores appeared to have been diverted. Thus, ED also started investigation after noticing the manipulation in different accounts of Paisan. In it, Sanjay Raut’s wife Varshana from Praveen Raut’s account received Rs. 83 lakhs was found to have been diverted. Rs. Varsha was selling a flat at Dadar out of 83 lakhs.
Besides, Swapna Patkar, Sujit Patkar, Praveen Raut’s wife Madhuri and Varsha Raut have sold nine plots at Alibaug, ED investigation has revealed. While this investigation was going on, Varsha Raut received Rs. 55 lakhs were returned to where they came from. Received from Madhuri Routh Rs. Sanjay Raut claimed to have an interest-free loan of 83 lakhs.
Praveen Raut re-arrested
Meanwhile, again on February 2, 2022, Praveen Raut was arrested. This time this action was taken by ED. A thorough investigation revealed that some money was diverted from HDIL’s account to Praveen Raut’s account. It is also revealed that Praveen Raut diverted some of this amount to the accounts of his close associates.
