Attack on Assam Rifles: Suspected terrorists of ULFA-I and NSCN-KYA attacked an Assam Rifles camp in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh on the morning of 9 August near the Indo-Myanmar border. Similar incidents were also reported in Nagaland. According to the Defense Public Relations Officer, a JCO has suffered minor injuries in this attack. Apart from this, no injury or injury has been reported to any jawan. On the other hand, the Assam Rifles personnel are increasing patrolling in view of strict monitoring for the upcoming Independence Day.
