THANE: A lady constable was found hanging inside the ladies room of Shri Nagar police station under Wagle Estate division of Thane city police.
The deceased has been identified as Anita Wahval (34) and was attached to the Shri nagar police, said a police officer. The police said that the incident took place between 1.30pm on Tuesday.
The officer added that the constable went inside the ladies room and did not come out for long time, after a while another lady constable went and found her hanging as she was not receiving calls.
The police suspect this is a case of suicide and there could be a domestic dispute for taking the extreme step.
The police said that they have taken her body to civil hospital for autopsy and further probe into the death is underway
