The causeway built over Meshvo river in Vasana Soghathi of Dehgam collapsed from one side during heavy rains. As the causeway road from Vasna to Soghathi collapsed, both the villages became unconnected. The RCC slabs broke and fell into the water. Recently this new road was constructed over the river.
According to the details received, a causeway was constructed over the Meshvo river four months ago to connect Lawad of Dehgam taluka to Vasana Soghathi village. The causeway collapsed from the Vasana Soghathi side in the heavy flood in the river during the night. Due to the collapse of the causeway road, the traffic of the people of both the villages has come to a standstill. The people of Vasana Soghathi village are forced to face extreme hardship to move from one end to the other. In Sabarkantha, the river has started flowing on both sides due to the continuous heavy rains.
Water is being seen in abundance in the river. The causeway (ruddy road) connecting the village from Vasana Soghati was suddenly washed away by the water in the river. The RCC slab on one side broke and fell into the water. Under the slab, the water was eroding and began to flow from below. Babuji Chauhan, sarpanch of Vasana Sogathi, said that due to the collapse of this road, the villagers of Vasana Sogathi have to travel two and a half to three kilometers away via Palundra for their daily work. The current heavy rains have overflowed the rivers and canals.
