23 gates of the dam have been opened with 7 lakh 40 thousand cusecs of water coming from the upstream of Sardar Sarovar Narmada Dam. These doors have been kept open continuously for the last 6 days. Out of which 6 lakh cusecs of water is being released. Then this Narmada river became Gaditur and the Narmada Ghat built at Gora was submerged. Narmada Aarti has been stopped now as this ghat is sinking. Although tourists are coming in large numbers on this ghat, police and SRP have also arranged police arrangements to prevent tourists from going into the water. However, the Narmada river is currently being viewed by tourists from the parking lot above.
Narmada Maha Aarti was stopped as the ghat sank
Gora Ghat of Narmada shore is built in 9 steps. The ghat is more than 60 feet long and today the ghat is completely submerged due to the release of large quantities of water into the river Narmada. Narmada Maha Aarti has been stopped as the ghat sank. So people are not getting the benefit of this Aarti and the feelings of the tourists are also hurting. However, the officials of Narmada Corporation knew that heavy flood is going to occur in the month of August. Therefore, when the water level of the Narmada rose, the fountains and lighting installed in the Narmada river two months ago, costing crores of rupees, were removed. It can be said that the existing foundation is safer than if it had been kept, the water would have flowed down with the bushes, which would have filled the shower and destroyed the entire foundation.
