  • It would be best to keep Pant out of T20 World Cup squad: Jafar
  • Karthik best in middle order, opening best position for Pant

Both wicketkeepers Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik have been named in the Indian squad for the T20 World Cup. In such a situation, there is a confusion in the minds of the fans that who will be made a part of the playing eleven between Pant and Karthik or both will be a part of the playing eleven of India during the T20 World Cup. Now former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer has given his opinion on this question. Jaffer has said that it would be best for India to keep Pant away from the World Cup strategy.

Keep Pant out of T20 World Cup: Jaffer

Jaffer said, ‘Rohit has to decide whether he will go with Pant or Karthik in the T20 World Cup. Pant did not perform well in T20s. Although he has won matches for India in ODIs and Tests, he has not been able to perform in T20s. While Karthik on the other hand has won many matches for his team in the IPL and has proved to be very useful in the shorter format. I think keeping Pant out of the T20 World Cup would be the best thing for India.

Best batting position for opening pant: Jaffer

The former Indian batsman also said that if Pant gets a chance, he should try out for Team India as an opener. I think opening is the best batting position for him. Here its place is not at number 5 or number 6.
