Ravi Shastri got angry after India’s defeat

Former head coach Ravi Shastri also criticized India’s poor fielding in the first T20 International. Defending a score of 208, the Indian fielders dropped three catches including Cameron Green (61 off 30 balls) and Matthew Wade (45 not out off 21 balls). Shastri, who was present in the commentary box, said, ‘If you look at all the previous top Indian teams, they have had a good mix of youth and experience, I see a loss of youth here and hence the fielding has been affected.’

Team India ranks last in terms of fielding

He said, ‘If you look at the last five to six years, I think this team is not competing with any of the top teams in terms of fielding. It can be very damaging in big tournaments.

Where’s the talent, where’s the X-factor?

The former India head coach said, ‘It means as a batting unit you have to score 15-20 runs more every match because if you look around the team, where is the talent? Not Jadeja, where is the X-factor?’

Akshar-Harshal-Rahul dropped the catch

In the first T20 against Australia, Akshar Patel gave life to Green at deep midwicket for the first individual score of 42, with KL Rahul failing to take a catch at long off in the next over. However, the catch that proved costly was that of Matthew Wade, Harshal Patel dropped Wade’s catch on his own ball in the 18th over. Wade scored an unbeaten 45 off 21 balls to give Australia victory with four balls to spare.
