The Union Minister visited the site of the National Maritime Heritage Complex at Lothal in the presence of top officials including Gujarat Chief Secretary Pankaj Kumar and later held a review meeting to review the ongoing operations.
Union Ports and Shipping Minister Sarvananda Sonowal held a performance review meeting during a site visit to the National Maritime Heritage Complex taking shape at Lothal. Gujarat State Chief Secretary Pankaj Kumar, Gujarat Maritime Board CEO Avantika Singh, Ahmedabad Collector Sandeep Sagale, District Development Officer Anil Dhamelia and other high officials, project high officials and local leaders were also present in this review meeting.
Addressing the press after the review meeting, Union Minister Sarvananda Sonowal said that as per the vision of Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi, the precious heritage of this once famous port will once again be made a center of attraction for the entire world. The world’s largest maritime heritage museum is set to come up in Lothal. The 35-acre National Maritime Heritage Complex taking shape at Lothal will be completed in the next one year, he added.
The Union Minister further said that the people around Lothal will benefit from this project of a total of four thousand crores. Due to this complex, tourism will develop and many new employment opportunities will be created. The whole world will see the strength of our civilization. A maritime institute is also to be built here, where people from all over the world will come to learn about ports and shipping.
Further, the Union Minister added that we are all trying to realize the dream of Narendrabhai Modi. Gujarat government is also getting very good support in this project, he added. Fine details of the project were presented in the review meeting. A film related to the project was also shown to the minister. The Union Minister also enthusiastically met the employees and laborers working in the project.
