When we reached out to Sunil, he said Parag’s sudden demise has shaken him up. “We were still recovering from Raju (Srivastava) passing away suddenly, and now Parag is no more. Parag and I became friends around 17 years ago when we participated in The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. We have done many stage shows, TV shows and films together.”
He adds, “He would be stressed about work too. Even before COVID hit us, he was in need of work, and he would tell us to find him some work. During the pandemic, it became even more difficult for artistes like us who earned from stage shows because they weren’t happening. In today’s time, many artistes are under pressure due to this.”
Talking about losing two friends in such a short span, he says, “I have lost two friends who were among my oldest friends, and now it feels like our Laughter Challenge group is broken. I just hope and pray that they are in a better place now.”
