Amitabh Bachchan thanks fans for wishes on his 80th birthday while Abhishek Bachchan attended the screening of 'Don' and feels indebted for the love - Watch video | Hindi Movie News

Amitabh Bachchan turned 80 yesterday and it seemed like the whole country celebrated it. Screenings of 11 of his films were held in 30 cities as a part of the festival, ‘Bachchan: Back to the beginning’ from October 8-11. The internet was abuzz with videos of fans clapping, cheering, whistling and dancing as they watched Big B’s films like ‘Don’, ‘Deewar’ and ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’.

Fans of Big B who he calls ‘EF’ – his ‘extended family’ had organised a special screening of ‘Don’ at PVR Juhu which was attended by Abhishek Bachchan and sister Shweta Bachchan Nanda.

The fan clubs shared the videos from the screening which was shared by Abhishek as he wrote, “This was such an amazing experience. Dad’s EF organised a special show of Don and so many of the EF flew in from all over the country and the world to celebrate their favourite. It was such an honour to witness their love and dedication for him. Thankyou to all the EF for making the last few days so special for my father. I am indebted.”

Abhishek made sure to make the 80th birthday special for Bachchan as he surprised him on ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ and celebrated his birthday with Jaya Bachchan in tow. Big B was quite overwhelmed by Abhishek’s efforts and heartfelt words and got emotional on the show. His entire family, including grand-daughter Aaradhya, wished him through a visual message.

Meanwhile, the legend also thanked fans for all their love and wishes. Big B wrote on his blog, “Birthday greetings .. and the prayers for happiness ever .. thank you for sharing this day with me .. and for being with me all these years .. am humbled and overwhelmed by all the love and affection .. love you all , my Extended Family .. ❤️❤️❤️”

He further added, “…and another 365 .. and another begins .. as do many other begins…beginnings are required .. they provide ends .. and ends need love and grace and care to be accomplished..it is impossible for me to even attempt what your love and affection means to me .. so I fold my hands 🙏 and pray for all in the spirit of generous gratitude.”

On work front, Big B just had a release in the form of ‘Goodbye’ on October 7 and his next is Sooraj Barjatya’s ‘Uunchai’ releasing on November 11.
