Student of class three, Sohraab Singh Talwar bags second position at golf tournament | Events Movie News

Sohraab Singh Talwar, a class 3 student of Strawberry Fields High School, Chandigarh has brought laurels to the city by grabbing the second position in the recently concluded Indian leg of the US Kids Golf Fall 2022 tournament.
Held at Gurugram, Sohraab displayed one of his best performances till date and claimed the runner-up position in the Under-9 category. His score on the first day of the first tournament of the series was level par and four over in the second tournament of the series. He scored 6 birdies on day one and four birdies on day two of the prestigious tournament.

The performance-based event will enable the players to qualify for the World Championship to be held in USA next year. Talking about his performance in the just concluded series, Sohraab says, “Playing here is a challenge for any golfer and I thoroughly enjoyed tackling these tough greens and fairways. It is indeed a special feeling to win and take home two medals and a good experience of playing the whole course here. I have learnt a lot and I aim to include the lessons learnt here in my future performances.”

Sohraab has been actively playing golf since 2018 and has more than 40 titles in his bag. He started playing in category F, which is for children under 7 years of age and quickly moved on to playing in category D which has children from 9-10 years vying for various titles even though he is yet to turn 9. He has also played in the full tour of the North Zone IGU (Indian Golf Union) Sub-Junior and Junior Feeder Tour 2021 and was ranked second in his category. Last year he won prestigious golf events like Greens to Glory Albatross and The Tee Box besides others. He is also the winner of the recent Indian Golf Union (IGU) events which were held in Dehradun and Mohali in category D. He is now preparing for the upcoming IGU Super League to be held in November and the Indian championship by US kids to be held in Gurugram next month.
