5 out of 6 CMs in Himachal Pradesh were Rajputs, know who was CM for how many years

There have been 6 CMs in the history of Himachal Pradesh so far, out of which five CMs are from Rajput caste, only one was Shanta Kumar Brahmin, who got the chance to hold the CM chair of Himachal Pradesh.

There have been 6 CMs in the history of Himachal Pradesh, out of which five CMs are from Rajput caste, only one was Shanta Kumar Brahmin, who got the opportunity to hold the chair of CM of Himachal, let’s know who was the CM who held the chair of Himachal so far and how many times he held the CM post.

Dr. Yashwantsinh Parmar first became the CM in 1952, he served for four consecutive terms and resigned in 1977. He belonged to Sirmaur district.

Thakur Ram Lal was the second CM of Himachal Pradesh, he was the CM for two terms, first he was CM from 28 January 1977 to 30 April 1977, then on 14 February 1980 he was again sworn in as CM. After resigning in 1983, he was made the Governor of Andhra Pradesh.

Shanta Kumar was the first non-Congress CM of Himachal Pradesh, he was elected CM for the first time in 1977 and remained CM till 1980, he was again sworn in as CM on 5 March 1990 and remained CM till 15 April 1992.

In Himachal, senior Congress leader Virbhadra Singh has been the CM of the state for most of the time, first becoming the CM of the state in 1983 and serving two terms till 1990. After this he became the CM for the third time in 1993. He was elected CM in 2003 and then again in 20012. Congress is contesting the 2022 elections under the leadership of his wife Pratibha Virbhadra Singh.

Prem Kumar Dhumal was a two-time CM in the BJP government, he was first elected as CM in 1998, the BJP and Hivinka coalition government in that election, then he held the CM’s chair from 2007 to 2012. In 2017 too, BJP contested elections on his face, but he was not made CM due to his loss of seat.

Jai Ram Thakur is the 6th CM of Himachal Pradesh, BJP government gave him the CM post in 2017, BJP is contesting on his face in this election too, PM Modi himself has praised Jai Ram Thakur during many rallies and road shows. It has to be seen if he can do some miracle in this election then fall prey to the customs going on in Himachal and hand over his job to the CM of other party.
