Gujarat factory fire brought under control after 8 hrs: Bharuch SP | Latest News India | Times Of Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: A fire that broke out at a packaging factory in Gujarat Industrial Developmnent Corporation’s (GIDC) industrial estate in Bharuch on Wednesday was brought under control after nearly eight hours of firefighting, officials said.

The fire broke out early on Wednesday at the Narmada plastic packaging factory in Bharuch GIDC.

“It took about eight hours of firefighting to bring the fire under control. No causality has been reported so far and no person has been injured in the incident. More than 15 fire tenders were engaged… The cause of the fire is being investigated. We have seen that the incidents of industrial fire are usually high during summer time,” said Leena Patil, Bharuch superintendent of police (SP).

Last week, a fire broke out at a chemical company in GIDC in Vapi area of Valsad district. Two adjacent companies were also impacted.
