The phrase ‘pols aa gayi pols’ (police have arrived/ police are chasing us) has been viral on social media since March 18, when Punjab Police launched a crackdown on radical Sikh preacher and Khalistan supporter Amritpal Singh, and his aides. While running away from the police, a supporter had made a fervent appeal to Amritpal’s followers to gather and save the former Dubai resident.
The appeal, however, sparked a meme fest on Twitter, thanks in no small part to how scared this associate was, in complete contrast to the ‘bravado’ displayed by Amritpal and his gang on several instances in the past.
On Tuesday, therefore, food delivery service Swiggy joined the ‘pols aa gayi pols’ meme bandwagon. Taking to Twitter, it shared a picture of variety of pulses. with the caption ‘Oye pulse aa gayi pulse’ (Pulses are here).
