The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has intensified its crackdown on terror outfits and their affiliates in Jammu and Kashmir by attaching the properties of three accused linked with banned Pakistan-based terrorist organizations. The NIA conducted raids on properties of terror suspects and accused across locations to take swift action in such cases.
In two different cases of terror activities, the NIA attached the immovable properties of three accused linked with proscribed terrorist organizations like Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) and Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) on Wednesday. The first case involved the attachment of the immovable properties of Doulat Ali Mugal and Ishaq Pala in Herman Shopian tehsil in Kashmir under the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. Ishaq Pala, a terrorist linked to Hizbul Mujahideen/Al-Badr, is currently lodged in Central Jail Agra. Doulat Ali Mugal was an overground worker of proscribed HM and is currently out on bail.
The duo conspired to join terror ranks and wage a war against India. Accused Doulat Ali Mugal provided logistic support to the terrorists while crossing the Line of Control. The properties attached include a double-storey house of Doulat Ali Mugal in village Manigah Kupwara and immovable property in the form of two rooms under the ownership of accused Ishaq Pala at village Allora in Shopian.
The second case involved the attachment of the immovable property of Fayaz Ahmad Magray, an Overground Worker (OGW) of the proscribed terrorist outfit JeM, currently lodged in District Jail Jhajjar, Haryana. The property consisted of six shops in Lethpora, Pulwama.
Fayaz Ahmad Magray was chargesheeted on August 1, 2018, for conspiring with local as well as Pakistan-based terrorists of JeM to execute a fidayeen attack on CRPF Group Centre Lethpora, Pulwama. He carried out a recce of the CRPF centre and provided logistic support to JeM terrorists before and after the attack.
The NIA launched investigations in February 2018 into the criminal conspiracy to commit acts of terror and violence in Kashmir, leading to the busting of a module of Overground Workers of JeM. Nissar Ahmad Tantray, Syed Hilal Andrabi, and Irshad Ahmad Reshi were arrested in the case and subsequently charged by the NIA.
