Mumbai: The director of a real estate company accused in a Rs 7.5 crore cheating case has reportedly been detained in Colombia based on a red-corner notice (RCN) issued against her.
In 2017, the company was accused of cheating public by promising flats in Juhu. Later, the company directors offered flats in another project. While this discussion was on, the company sold off the flats to others, said police.“The three company directors, all family members, left the country before the FIR was registered,” said police. The Economic Offences Wing is probing the case.
RCN was issued against the director, her brother and mother, and company office bearers. “We have learnt that one of the directors of the real estate company against whom an RCN was issued has been detained in Colombia. We are communicating to the MEA to check her identity,” said an EOW source. — Mateen Hafeez
