It was told that the Prime Minister will leave for Italy on June 13. He will participate in the G7 summit there. This is the first foreign tour in PM Modi’s third term. Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra said, PM Modi will also hold bilateral talks with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. Both the leaders will discuss in detail about how to take the relations to new heights and will give further guidelines. The leaders of the world’s richest countries participate in the G7 summit. Italy, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, United Kingdom and United States are its members. This time the conference is being held in Apulia region of Italy from 13 to 15 June. In this conference, there is a possibility of detailed discussion on the ongoing war in Ukraine and the conflict in Gaza. India has participated in ten G-7 summit outreach sessions so far.

A high-level delegation will also go
According to PTI, a high-level delegation will also accompany PM Modi. It will include Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Foreign Secretary Vin Mohan Kwatra and many others. According to sources, the Prime Minister will also hold bilateral talks with the leaders of many countries apart from the conference. US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will attend the conference.

Mahatma Gandhi’s statue was broken
Before PM Modi’s visit, Khalistan supporters damaged Mahatma Gandhi’s statue in Italy. Anti-India slogans were also written there. India protested against this to the Italian government. The Foreign Secretary said, India has raised the issue of damage to Mahatma Gandhi’s statue in Italy. The statue has been repaired. The government there has taken necessary action.
