'You are irritating like a flickering tube light', after seeing the comment Ritesh Deshmukh called the director and asked- what does it mean?

New Delhi. Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh has been ruling the film industry for 20 years. He is known among the audience for his comic timing and entertaining cinema. Recently, when he debuted as a director with ‘Wade’, he received a lot of praise, apart from this, people liked to see him and Genelia Deshmukh on screen after many years. However, he also had to face a lot of criticism. Now after a long time, he talked about those criticisms.

While talking to ETimes, Riteish shared a funny anecdote. When asked about the worst advice or criticism he has received, the actor said, ‘Riteish is as wooden as the wooden bench in the film.’ He further said, “I did a film called ‘Naach’. For the last scene of that film, that critic wrote, ‘Riteish Deshmukh is as irritating as a flickering tubelight.’

Ritesh did not understand this, so he called his director Ram Gopal Varma. Ritesh imitating RGV said, ‘I remember I called Ramu and he said, ‘Ritesh, did you read the review? The critic said you were irritating him like a flickering tubelight. Do you know what that means? I spoke to the critic and he said, every time you said something, you blinked, so it was irritating him.

Riteish Deshmukh told him, Blinking is a bad thing, but it taught me. Whenever I act, I try not to blink because blinking while acting in emotional scenes alienates the audience. Every criticism teaches you something, no matter how angry you are. As long as people don’t get personal, people can criticise me as much as they want because I will learn from it.
