Himachal Minister Jagat Negi Vs Himachal Governor Shiv Pratap Shukl Shimla Jai Ram Thakur | Minister Negi's counterattack on Himachal Governor's statement: Said- Government is about to fulfill the election promise; Advice to Leader of Opposition not to indulge in sycophancy - Shimla News

Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi has hit back at the statement of Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla. Jagat Negi said, there is a provision in Nautod rules that there is a provision to give 20 bighas of land to the tribal people who have less than 20 bighas of land. Provided, that

.

Jagat Negi said, 12742 cases have been pending for giving land to eligible people. For this, he himself has requested the Governor 5 times to suspend the Forest Conservation Act 1980 (FCA). Three governors in the past have done it before. Even then the needy have been given land.

Governor has powers to suspend FCA: Negi

The provision of giving land up to 20 bighas to the tribal people was made by Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar government in 1968. After this thousands of people were given Nautod land. But after the enactment of the FCA Act, this rule was stopped in non-tribal areas. But there are still rules in Tribal. For this, the Governor has the power to suspend FCA.

Negi said, a lot of the area is along the border area. Such people will have to be stopped there and given land for employment. This will uplift the tribal families.

Minister’s reply to the Governor

Let us tell you that the Governor had said that we are not going to fulfill anyone’s election promise. Minister Jagat Negi termed this statement as unfortunate and said, the elected government is there only to fulfill the election promises. Congress has promised to make complete restoration in the tribal areas. As far as oath is concerned, all people holding constitutional posts have to take oath on the Constitution. We take an oath to work impartially. The Constitution gives the right to express one’s views in a democratic manner.

Negi’s advice to Jairam, stop sycophancy

While giving advice to Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur, Jagat Negi said, stop sycophancy and stop teaching him. You work in the interest of the tribals.

Actually, Jairam Thakur had targeted the Revenue Minister after objecting to the minister’s statement at Raj Bhavan and he had demanded the Chief Minister to restrain the minister.

On this, Negi said that the previous government had ruined only one favorite person in five years. Now Congress is moving in the direction of breaking the law while the opposition is opposing it. He described BJP as anti-tribal. Jairam, don’t teach us.

Not a single penny received in Vibrant Area Scheme

Jagat Negi said that when there was Congress government at the Centre, there was a provision in the budget for the border area. But BJP government brought Vibrant Village Scheme for border areas. Many ministers from the Center came to the vibrant area. Himachal sent a scheme of Rs 700 crore to the Center under this scheme. But the Center did not contribute even a single rupee to this scheme.
