Mahakumbh, the great festival of Hindu faith, has started in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. People have come from every corner of the country and the world to participate in it. Since the beginning of Mahakumbh, more than 1 crore people have taken bath in it. Different types of saints and babas have arrived to participate in the Mahakumbh. One of them is Masani Gorakh Baba who is also known as ‘IIT Baba’.
The real name of IIT Baba, who hails from Haryana, is Abhay Singh. Abhay Singh has studied Air Space and Aeronautical Engineering from IIT Bombay. Later he left the world of science and aerospace and became a Baba and dedicated his life to Lord Shiva. His journey of becoming a Baba after engineering is quite interesting. While talking to CNN News 18, Baba told about many secrets about his life. When he was asked how he reached this state after doing engineering, Baba directly said that this is the best state. He said, “Keep following knowledge, how far will you go, in the end you have to come to this place.” Baba also told that, “At that time he was not able to understand what he had to do. After studying for four years in IIT Mumbai, he also took coaching in Physics for one year. After this, due to passion, he went into Arts. And also learned photography. After this he also did a master’s degree in design. IIT Baba was also fond of photography.
Didn’t find peace even in photography
Baba said that initially he wanted to do engineering in his life, but even after doing engineering, he was not able to understand what he had to do. After this he felt that he should do photography and he started travel photography. He felt that in this profession he can live a dream life, travel, go everywhere, have fun and also earn money. But still his mind did not find peace and then he became Baba. IIT Baba is currently at Triveni Sangam and enjoying Mahakumbh 2025, but before this he has stayed in many religious cities.
