In a press briefing at 11 pm, he said that the Indian Army is retaliating to the border intrusion.

Misri also added that the intrusion is “extremely condemnable” and held Pakistan responsible for it. The Foreign Secretary also asked Pakistan to immediately stop the intrusion.

“For the last few hours, there have been repeated violations of the understanding arrived early in the evening between the Director Generals of Military Operations of India and Pakistan. This is a breach of understanding arrived at earlier today. The armed forces are giving an adequate and appropriate responses to these violations, and we take very very serious notice of these violations. And we call Pakistan to take appropriate steps to address these violations and deal with the situation with seriousness and responsibility. The armed forces are maintaining a strong vision on the situation and they have been given instructions to deal strongly with any instances of repetition of the violations along the international border as well as the line of control,” he said.

India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire around 3 pm on May 10. Within a mere four hours, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Andullah said that explosions were heard in the Srinagar area. Several reports of explosions came in from different parts of the Union Territory.
