Indian Railways has announced a record 380 Ganpati special train trips this year to ensure easy and comfortable travel during the festive season. In view of the Ganpati festival, the Railways has started running Ganpati special trains from 11 August. As the festival approaches, the number of trains will be further increased. A total of 358 Ganpati special train trips were carried out in the year 2024, while in 2023 the number was 305. It is clear that this time the facilities have been increased in view of the huge crowd of passengers.
According to the Ministry of Railways, this year the Central Railway will provide the highest services among Ganpati Special trains. This will operate a total of 296 trips to meet a heavy travel demand during the festival in Maharashtra and Konkan region.
In addition, Western Railway 56 Trip, Konkan Railway (KRCL) 6 Trip and South Western Railway will run 22 trips. In this way, many zones are providing additional services for the convenience of passengers. The festival will be celebrated from 27 August to 6 September 2025.
Ganpati special trains running for Konkan region will stay at many important stations. These include Kolad, Indapur, Mangaon, Goregaon Road, Veer, Sapa Warmane, Karanjdi, Vinhere, Diwanakhawati, Kalambani Budrak, Khed, Anjani, Chiploon, Kamate, Savarda, Aravali Road, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Adawali, Villavade, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavari Road, Nandgaon Road, Kunkavali, Kudal and Japs are included.
