At least two people were killed on Sunday after a mass Russian drone and missile strike hit Ukraine’s capital Kyiv sending smoke rising from the Cabinet of Ministers building. According to the Associated Press, it was not immediately clear if the smoke was caused by a direct hit, which would mark a major escalation in Russia’s air campaign. Officials said two people were killed and 11 others injured in the attack. Among the dead was a one-year-old child, whose body was pulled from the rubble by rescuers, said Tymur Tkachenko, head of Kyiv’s city administration. Russia has so far avoided targeting government buildings in the city center. This is the second mass Russian drone and missile attack on Kyiv in the span of two weeks, as hopes for peace talks continue to fade.(This is a developing story.)
