A massive avalanche struck the base camp of Mount Manaslu in Nepal on Sunday. As a result of this avalanche, hundreds of camps went under tons of snow and ice with many climbers and sherpas going missing.

However, rescue operations are underway and various helicopter services are conducting aerial searches. No casualties have been reported so far.

This comes a week after two people, including an Indian climber, were killed in a similar avalanche. On September 26, at least two climbers were killed and 11 others injured after a huge snowpack ripped through the base camp of Mt Manaslu, reported the Tourism Department of Nepal.

This year, more than 400 permits were issued by the Department of Tourism to climb Manaslu. Mt Manaslu which is touted as the world’s eighth highest mountain and considered the fifth most dangerous peak, has claimed 53 lives of mountaineers from 297 attempts, according to PTI reports.

A policeman was killed and a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel injured during a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

“Terrorists fired upon a joint Naka party of CRPF & Police at Pinglana, Pulwama. In this terror attack, 01 Police personnel got martyred & 01 CRPF personnel got injured,” Kashmir Zone Police said in a tweet.

The police said reinforcements had been sent and the area was being cordoned off.

The attack comes hours after an encounter in Shopian where one Lashkar terrorist was killed after a three-hour operation.

Home  Minister Amit Shah will be arriving in Jammu and Kashmir on a three-day visit tomorrow. Besides reviewing security situation, Mr Shah will address two rallies in Rajouri and Baramulla district.

મહારાષ્ટ્રના સૌથી મોટા મરચા બજાર નંદુરબાર એગ્રીકલ્ચરલ પ્રોડ્યુસ માર્કેટ કમિટીમાં લાલ મરચાની (Red Chili)ખરીદી શરૂ થઈ ગઈ છે. લાંબી રાહ જોયા બાદ સારા ભાવ (price) આવવા લાગ્યા છે. ખેડૂતોને (farmers) મંડીમાં પ્રતિ ક્વિન્ટલ રૂ.4000 થી 5000નો ભાવ મળી રહ્યો છે.સારા દરથી ખેડૂતો સંતુષ્ટ જોવા મળી રહ્યા છે. હાલમાં એક જ બજારમાં 1000 થી 1500 ક્વિન્ટલ મરચાની આવક થઈ રહી છે. વેપારીઓનું અનુમાન છે કે દશેરા બાદ આવકોમાં ભારે વધારો થશે. ખેતીના સમાચાર અહીં વાંચો.

નંદુરબાર બજાર સમિતિમાં માત્ર જિલ્લામાંથી જ નહીં પરંતુ દેશના અન્ય ભાગોમાંથી પણ મરચાની આવક થાય છે.જ્યારે ગત વર્ષની સરખામણીમાં આ વર્ષે ખેડૂતોને સારા ભાવ મળવા લાગ્યા છે. જિલ્લામાં 2500 હેક્ટરમાં મરચાનું વાવેતર થાય છે.

મરચાના ભાવમાં હજુ વધારો થવાની ધારણા છે

મરચાની ગુણવત્તા પ્રમાણે મરચાનો ભાવ 5000 થી 6000 હજાર રૂપિયા સુધી મળી રહ્યો છે. આ વર્ષે હવામાન સારું રહેશે અને બજાર સમિતિમાં મરચાનું વિક્રમી આગમન થવાની સંભાવના છે. આ ખરીફ સિઝનમાં મરચાં માટે જરૂરી પોષક વાતાવરણને કારણે મરચાંનું ઉત્પાદન વધી રહ્યું છે. અને લાલ મરચાના સારા ભાવ મળી રહ્યા છે તેથી ખેડૂતોએ મરચાની ખેતી પર ભાર મૂક્યો છે. જો કે વરસાદના કારણે ખેડૂતો સહિત વેપારીઓને હાલાકી ભોગવવી પડી હતી.પરંતુ, હવે દશેરા પછી જ બહારના વેપારીઓ મરચાની ખરીદી કરવા આવશે તેવો અંદાજ છે. તેથી ભાવમાં વધુ વધારો થવાની ધારણા છે.તે સાથે જ બજારોમાં સારી આવક પણ શરૂ થશે.

વેપારીઓ સરકાર પાસે માંગ કરી રહ્યા છે

જ્યાં મરચાં સુકાઈ રહ્યાં છે ત્યાં વેપારીઓને આ વર્ષે જગ્યાની સમસ્યાનો સામનો કરવો પડી રહ્યો છે.કારણ કે તે જગ્યાએ પ્લાન્ટ બનાવવાનું કામ શરૂ થઈ ગયું છે. માટે કાયમી જગ્યા આપો. વેપારીઓનું કહેવું છે કે મહારાષ્ટ્રના સૌથી મોટા મરચાં ઉત્પાદક જિલ્લામાં મરચાં પાર્ક બનાવવા માટે રાજ્ય સરકાર કેમ ધ્યાન નથી આપી રહી, જ્યારે અન્ય રાજ્યો અને વિદેશમાં પણ મોટા પાયે માર્ચ મોકલવામાં આવે છે.

લાલ મરચાની ખેતી ક્યારે થાય છે?

નંદુરબાર જિલ્લામાં 2,500 હેક્ટરમાં મરચાંની ખેતી થાય છે.તેનું વાવેતર જૂન મહિનામાં થાય છે. લીલાં મરચાં વાવેતર પછી ત્રણથી ચાર મહિનામાં ઉત્પન્ન થાય છે. ડિસેમ્બર સુધી લીલા મરચાંનું ઉત્પાદન થાય છે, ત્યારબાદ એક મહિનામાં લાલ મરચાંનું ઉત્પાદન પણ થાય છે, જ્યારે લાલ મરચાં ઝાડ પર જ લાલ થઈ જાય છે, ત્યારે તેની કાપણી શરૂ કરવામાં આવે છે. લણણી સામાન્ય રીતે જાન્યુઆરીના અંતમાં શરૂ થાય છે. ત્યાર બાદ મરચાને સૂકવીને લાલ મરચું બનાવવામાં આવે છે, પરંતુ આ વર્ષે જગ્યા ઓછી હોવાથી વેપારીઓને લાલ મરચું સૂકવવામાં મુશ્કેલી પડી રહી છે.

The main lesson from the pandemic is climate change, and it all boils down to what humans have done to the environment, Dr Soumya Swaminathan, Chief Scientist at the World Health Organisation (WHO)  said today. Our lives are intertwined with the health of the environment, she added.

The vulnerable suffer a lot, like in the Pakistan floods. It can happen to any country, and it’s important to focus on equity and help those who are left behind, she said.

She also stressed on the importance of a public health approach, having good data, and research.

On vaccines taking a toll on the body, she said the benefits greatly outweigh the risks. 

“Vaccinology has saved many lives in the 20th and 21st century, and everything is a balance between life and risk. Similarly, for vaccines, safety is important and there is high bar regarding safety. There will be rare adverse cases, like 3-4 in a million,” Dr Swaminathan said.

Speaking to NDTV, when asked about the validity of vaccines as many got infected with Covid even after taking booster doses, she said the doses prevent severe disease.

We are recovering quickly because of vaccines, she said, pointing out that over 13 billion people worldwide have taken the vaccine and 20 million lives have been saved due to it. The majority of deaths in the US were because of no vaccination, she added.

Dr Swaminathan further explained that vaccines are developed with high efficacy and safety. The virus is trying to evolve, and each time mutations have allowed the virus to evade antibodies, she said, adding that, “there are people who have not taken the vaccine and haven’t fallen sick, but that’s a matter of chance.

Commending India’s vaccination efforts, she said the country has done a great job in vaccinating people. 

“During the delta wave, many weren’t vaccinated and that’s why we saw the impact. Drugs helped in reducing severity and may prevent you from getting very sick. Booster dose is very important,” she said.

Karnataka Congress Chief's Arrest Dare To BJP Amid "PayCM" Protest

Bengaluru:

Karnataka Congress chief DK Shivakumar dared the state government today to act against him and former CM Siddaramaiah for wearing the “PayCM” t-shirt, alleging that several party workers were booked for wearing the same t-shirt during the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’.

“The Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah and I and other leaders will participate in Bharat Jodo Yatra by wearing ‘PayCM’ t-shirts. Let’s see what the BJP will do,” Mr Shivakumar told reports in Nanjangud.

He said cases had been filed against some Congress workers for wearing t-shirts with “Pay-CM” written on them during the march in Gundlupet.

“We are not afraid of this (cases),” he said.

On Saturday, a Congress worker was made to take off his t-shirt that featured the “PayCM” poster during the Bharat Jodo Yatra and an FIR has also been registered against him at the Chamarajanagar police station.

“PayCM” is an aggressive campaign launched by Congress against the Basavaraj Bommai government, accusing it of massive corruption. The PayCM campaign appears to have started on September 21, when posters featuring CM Bommai surfaced in Bengaluru. These posters had a QR code with the message “40 per cent accepted here”.

Once scanned, the QR code would take people to a parody “40 per cent Commission Government” website launched recently by Congress. If any, people would then be asked to file their complaints against the chief minister.

The government has dismissed the Congress charges as politically motivated.

“The government is sunk in 40% commission. All sections including farmers are suffering. On the one hand, there is corruption and unrest, on the other hand, there is the problem of farmers and unemployment. An atmosphere of fear has been created among the people,” Mr Shivakumar alleged.

The Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee chief accused the BJP of slander and baseless criticism because “our development is unbearable” to it. “BJP is doing petty politics to divert people’s attention. They are criticizing us even though it has dead rats on its plate”.

Speaking about the yatra, Mr Shivakumar said it is “not a party programme but a people’s programme that connects minds”.

“We are trying to find answers to problems and give courage to worried people,” he added.

Top 5 things to know about the first ‘Made in India’ luxury EV Mercedes-Benz EQS580

Mercedes Benz India launched the first locally-assembled luxury electric vehicle in the country at a starting price of Rs 1.55 crore (all India ex-showroom). The EQS 580 will be the 14th ‘Made in India’ Mercedes-Benz model and this locally assembled model sits below the recently launched Mercedes-AMG EQS 53 S and is cheaper by Rs 90 lakh than the fully imported AMG version.
The Mercedes Benz EQS 580 joins the EQC and AMG EQS 53 electric vehicles in the company’s lineup in India. Here are the top 5 things that you need to know about the first ‘Made in India’ luxury EVs.
1. Design
Talking about the design of the luxury EV, the EQS 580 gets a more toned-down design compared to the EQS 53 AMG. At the front, it gets less aggressive facia with a blanked-out grille that features illuminated three-pointed stars. The car gets aerodynamically designed five-spoke 20-inch alloy wheels.

The S580 measures 5,126mm in length, and the EQS 580 4Matic is only slightly shorter than the S-Class but both have a near identical wheelbase of 3,210mm.
Mercedes Benz also said that they have achieved a coefficient of 0.20Cd – even lower than the EQS 53’s 0.23Cd.
2. Interior and Features
Moving on to the interior, the main highlight here is the ‘Hyperscreen’ that it comes with. The Mercedes Benz EQS 580 gets a 56-inch MBUX Hyperscreen which assimilation of three screens, including a passenger display, central infotainment, and driver display. The driver and front passenger get 12.3-inch screens each, while the infotainment system in the centre is 17.7-inch. There are 12 actuators to give haptic feedback to the users and the Hyperscreen also gets pre-installed games.
The EQS 580 gets other features such as 3D maps, a heads-up display, a massage function for the front seats, a Burmester 3D sound system, air filtration, and an MBUX tablet for the rear seat passengers.
3. Powertrain
The Mercedes Benz EQS 580 gets two electric motors, one on each axle, and together, the motors make a combined power of 523hp and 855Nm. That makes it 238hp and 165Nm lower than the EQS 53 AMG.
Mercedes claims that the EQS 589 can sprint from 0-100 in just 4.3-seconds and the car has a limited top speed of 210kph.
4. Battery and Range
The two electric motors in the EQS 580 are powered by a 107.8kWh lithium-ion battery pack. This battery pack is compatible with 200kW fast charging and Mercedes claims that the EV can get 300 km of range in 15 minutes if a 200 kWh DC charger is used the company also said that this luxury electric car can be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in 31 minutes.

The car claims a range of up to 677 km (WLTP)| 857 km (ARAI-certified) which also makes it the longest range EV in the country.
5. Safety, Pricing and Rivals
Talking about the safety features, the EQS 580 boasts a EURO NCAP safety rating of 5 stars and comes equipped with nine airbags. Mercedes states that a favourable location has been chosen for the installation of the battery, in a crash-protected area in the underbody.
The EV gets rear-axle steering with 10° steering angle adjustment, HEPA Filter, Dynamic Select, and Predictive Route Planning, among other features.
The prices for the electric luxury sedan start from Rs 1.55 crore (ex-showroom). In terms of pricing, the EQS 580 competes with Audi e-Tron and Porsche Taycan.

આપના  (AAP ) સંયોજક તથા દિલ્લીના મુખ્યમંત્રી અરવિંદ કેજરીવાલ  (Arvind kejriwal) તેમજ પંજાબના મુખ્યમંત્રી ભગવંત માન  (Bhagwant Maan) ગુજરાતની મુલાકાતે આવ્યા હતા અને તેઓ રાજકોટમાં વિવિધ કાર્યક્રમમાં સામેલ થયા હતા તે અંતર્ગત પંજાબના મુખ્યપ્રધાન ભગવંત માન એક કાર્યક્રમમાં સ્ટેજ પર ગરબે ઘૂમ્યા હતા. નવરાત્રીમાં  (Navratri 2022) ચારે તરફ ગરબાની રમઝટ જામી છે ત્યારે બંગાળમાં પણ મુખ્યમંત્રી મમતા બેનર્જીએ ગરબા કર્યા હતા તો કેન્દ્રીય મંત્રી સ્મૃતિ ઇરાની પણ એક કાર્યક્રમમાં ગરબા રમતા જોવા મળ્યા હતા. ગુજરાતી ગરબાની લોકપ્રિયતા એટલી છે કે ભાગ્યે જ નવરાત્રિમાં લોકો ગરબા રમવાની મજા માણ્યા વિનાના રહેતા હશે.

આ ગરબાનું આયોજન  ઇન્દ્રનીલ રાજ્યગુરૂ દ્વારા કરવામાં આવ્યું હતું.  આ  ગરબા કાર્યક્રમમાં  ભગવંત માને ગરબા  તેમજ ભાગંડા કર્યા હતા. તેમણે ગરબા અને ભાગંડા કરતા જનમેદની તેમને ચિચિયારી કરીને વધાવી લીધા હતા .  તો  દિલ્લીના મુખ્યમંત્રી અરવિંદ કેજરીવાલે  પણ  રાજકોટમાં  ખોડલધામ દ્વારા આયોજિત ગરબા મહોત્સવમાં  હાજરી આપી હતી.

તો બીજી  તરફ અમદાવાદમાં બેડમિન્ટન સ્ટાર પી. વી. સિંધૂ પણ ગરબે ઘૂમતા જોવા મળ્યા હતા.   પી.વી સિંધૂ સંપૂર્ણ  ગુજરાતી પારંપરિક ચણિયાચોળી પહેરીને  ગરબા ગ્રાઉન્ડમાં આવ્યા હતા   અને  ખેલૈયાઓ સાથે ગરબા રમવાની મજા માણી હતી.  તો જામનગરમાં ફિલ્મ અભિનેતા  શર્મન જોષીએ  પણ  ગરબા રમવાનો આનંદ માણ્યો હતો.

GUWAHATI: With the match scheduled in the middle of Durga Puja, the traffic in the city here, and around Barsapara Cricket Stadium in particular, on the eve of the second T20 International match between India and South Africa, was clogged. The situation quite resembled the state of India’s team combination right now.
With the upcoming T20 World Cup barely two weeks away, the ongoing series against visiting South Africa is a preparation for the big-ticket event, irrespective of the outcome of the bilateral series. However, as India were hoping to get the team combination right ahead of the ICC meet, Jasprit Bumrah‘s injury added to growing uncertainties.

The yorker king’s absence will surely hurt India’s causes if he eventually fails to board the flight to Australia. His death bowling will surely be missed as he was already grappling with a few injury concerns.
Nevertheless, the Men in Blue will be eager to leave the uncertainty and chaos over Bumrah’s availability for the showpiece event behind as they take on South Africa, stuttering with top order batting, at the Barsapara track on Sunday evening. It happens to be Gandhi Jayanti as well as Saptami.
A lot has been said about the strike rate of KL Rahul’s innings in the first match in Thiruvananthapuram but the India vice-captain is at least back among the runs. The Proteas batters struggled against the Indian seamers in the series opener, losing half of their side for just nine runs in 2. 3 overs. However, pacer Wayne Parnell defended his teammates saying there’s no need to panic about it.

“It’s just one of those things. It wasn’t a good T20 wicket and they bowled really well, but our batters have been world-class in the last couple of years, so there’s nothing to panic about,” Parnell said at the pre-match press conference on Saturday. “We have to give credit to the Indian seamers. We’ll have to define ways to counter that in the second game.”
About their preparations for the T20 WC, the left-arm pacer said, “It’s been very good over the last few months. We were here in June, then went on a UK tour. Coming back here again before going to Australia.”
