Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Mulayam Singh Yadav’s health deteriorated on Sunday and he was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Medanta hospital in Gurugram.

The 82-year-old SP leader was admitted for several days but on Sunday he has been shifted to the ICU after his condition deteriorated.

Meanwhile, Akhilesh Yadav left for Delhi from Lucknow as soon as he received the news of his father’s health.

Mulayam Singh referred to as Netaji- founded the Samajwadi Party. He currently represents the Mainpuri constituency in the Lok Sabha.

Earlier, Samajwadi Party patriarch’s wife Sadhna Gupta died in July this year.

She was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Gurugram for a lung infection.

Sadhana Gupta was Mulayam Singh Yadav’s second wife. His first wife, Maalti Devi passed away in 2003. Maalti Devi was the mother of Akhilesh Yadav.

Cocaine, Crystal Methamphetamine Worth Rs 1,476 Crore Seized From Truck in Mumbai

The DRI recovered 198 kg high purity crystal methamphetamine (ice) and 9 kg high purity cocaine worth Rs 1,476 crore in Navi Mumbai.

Revenue intelligence officers have seized 198 kg high purity crystal methamphetamine (ice) and 9 kg cocaine worth Rs 1,476 crore, the finance ministry said. In one of the biggest seizures of amphetamine and cocaine in the country, Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) officers intercepted and seized a truck in Mumbai on October 1.

The DRI recovered 198 kg high purity crystal methamphetamine (ice) and 9 kg high purity cocaine worth Rs 1,476 crore in Navi Mumbai, the ministry said in a statement. The team of DRI Mumbai officers intercepted a truck in Vashi, carrying imported oranges.

On thorough checking and examination, large quantity of drugs were found concealed in the cartons carrying oranges. “This is a new kind of modus operandi involving concealment of drugs in the boxes of ‘Valentia Oranges’ imported from South Africa. After clearance of such oranges from Customs area, the goods used to get stored in some cold storages located in Vashi,” the ministry said.

The importer of the goods has been nabbed and is being interrogated. Further search operations for identifying and nabbing the people involved in running this chain of smuggling of drugs are on, it added.

ગુવાહાટીમાં બીજી T20 મેચ રમશે

ભારત અને દક્ષિણ આફ્રિકા વચ્ચે રવિવારે T20 સિરીઝની બીજી મેચ રમાશે. ગુવાહાટીમાં યોજાનારી આ મેચ માટે બંને ટીમો તૈયાર છે. ભારત આ સિરીઝમાં હાલમાં 1-0થી આગળ છે અને પહેલી મેચ જીત્યા બાદ હવે ભારતની નજર સિરીઝ જીતવા પર છે. પરંતુ ચાહકો માટે ખરાબ સમાચાર છે કે આ મેચ પર વરસાદનો પડછાયો છે. આવી સ્થિતિમાં વરસાદ મેચની મજા બગાડે તેવી સંભાવના છે.

ગુવાહાટીનું હવામાન કેવું રહેશે?

સાંજ પછી વરસાદની સંભાવના 80 ટકા છે, જે મોડી રાત સુધી વધી જશે છે. આવી સ્થિતિમાં, કે ગુવાહાટીમાં હવામાનને કારણે મેચ રદ થઈ શકે છે અથવા ઓછી ઓવરની મેચ રમાઈ શકે છે. જે રીતે નાગપુરમાં ઓસ્ટ્રેલિયા સામે જોવા મળ્યું હતું.

ટીમ ઈન્ડિયા શ્રેણીમાં 1-0થી આગળ

દક્ષિણ આફ્રિકા સામે ચાલી રહેલી શ્રેણીમાં ટીમ ઈન્ડિયા 1-0થી આગળ છે. પ્રથમ મેચ તિરુવનંતપુરમમાં રમાઈ હતી જેમાં ટીમ ઈન્ડિયાએ 8 વિકેટે જીત મેળવી હતી. ભારતે આ મેચમાં દક્ષિણ આફ્રિકાને 106 રનના સ્કોર પર રોકી દીધું હતું, જેના જવાબમાં માત્ર બે વિકેટ ગુમાવીને ભારતે આ લક્ષ્યાંક હાંસલ કરી લીધો હતો.

Bullet Shot From Ground Pierces Through Plane Mid-Air, Injures Man In Myanmar

A plane passenger was recently left injured after a bullet that was shot from the ground hit him mid-air. The man had been travelling on a Myanmar National Airlines plane, which was about to touch down in Loikaw, Myanmar, when he was struck on Friday morning. 

A photo shared on Instagram by ‘cabin_crew_club’ showed the victim sitting on his seat, slumped over and holding a tissue to the right side of his neck and cheek. Another picture also showed the hole in the fuselage of the plane made by the bullet.

According to news agency Myanmar Now, the officials informed that an ATR-72 aircraft carrying 63 passengers was shot at an elevation of more than 3,000 feet. The man on board suffered an injury to the right side of his face. 

Authorities identified the man as a 27-year-old who had been travelling from Naypitaw to Loikaw. He was immediately rushed to the hospital on landing.

The authorities said that the bullet pierced through the plane before hitting the passenger. The Myanmar military council accused two resistance forces – the Karenni National Progressive Party (KNPP) and the People’s Defence Force – of firing at the aircraft. However, the KNPP has reportedly said that their organisation was not involved in the alleged shooting, and avoids civilian targets. 

Meanwhile, as per Myanmar Now, the flight bookings for Loikaw-bound flights have been cancelled until further notice. The Myanmar military has also reportedly deployed troops near the airport and has been conducting searches in the area.

Bullet pierces through Myanmar plane mid-air, hits passenger: Reports | World News

A passenger onboard a Myanmar National Airlines domestic flight suffered facial injuries when a bullet pierced through the aircraft’s cabin as it prepared to land at Loikaw, the capital of eastern Kayah state. The flight had 63 passengers onboard, reported Al Jazeera. The bullet was reportedly shot from the ground and hit the passenger mid-air.

Myanmar government spokesperson major-general Zaw Min Tun on Saturday said the passenger had received treatment in hospital and described the attack on the plane as “a military crime, a criminal act”, reported state-run Global New Light of Myanmar news outlet.

The Junta government has promised to take “serious action” against rebel forces, adding that the bullet damaged the aircraft’s fuselage.

The Sun reported that the aircraft was flying at an altitude of 3,500 feet and around four miles north of the airport. After the incident, the Myanmar National Airlines’ office in Loikaw announced that all flights to the city have been cancelled indefinitely.

A report by The Mirror suggests that the Myanmar government has accused rebel forces in the state of Kayah of firing at the aircraft. However, rebel groups denied the allegation.

Kayah has seen a major conflict between the Junta and local resistance groups since the army seized power last year, overthrowing the democratically elected government of Aung San Suu Kyi.

સુરત(Surat)જિલ્લાના કામરેજ હાઇવે પર થી એમ્બ્યુલન્સ માંથી કરોડોની ડુપ્લીકેટ કરન્સી(Duplicate Currency)  સુરત જિલ્લા પોલીસે પકડી પાડી છે કામરેજ પોલીસને મળેલી બાતમી મુજબ કેટલાક ઇસમોની ટોળકી આશરે કરોડ જેટલી બનાવટી ચલણી નોટો પોતાની પાસે રાખી બજારમાં વટાવવાની ફીરાકમાં છે તથા આ બનાવટી ચલણી નોટોનો ઉપયોગ કરી છેતરપીંડી કરી રહેલ છે. જેમાંથી એક ઇસમ કીમ ચાર રસ્તા તરફથી એક એમ્બ્યુલન્સ નંબર GJ-18-U-8912 જેના ઉપર દિકરી એજ્યુકેશન ટ્રસ્ટ મોટાવડાલા-સુરત લખેલ છે અને આ એમ્બ્યુલન્સમાં બનાવટી ચલણી નોટો લઇને કામરેજ ચાર રસ્તાથી સુરત શહેર તરફ વટાવવા જવાનો છે.

સુરત જિલ્લા એસપી અને સુરત રેન્જ આઇ.જી ને જાણ કરવામાં આવી હતી

તેના આધારે અમદાવાદ મુંબઈ હાઇવે ઉપર આવેલ શીવ શક્તિ હોટલની સામે નવી પારડી કટ પાસે નાકાબંધી કરી આ એમ્બુલન્સને રોકી લીધેલ જેમાં ચેક કરતા એમ્બુલન્સના પાછળના ભાગે છ પતરાની છ પેટીમાં 2000 ના દરની નોટોના બંડલ -1290 જેમાં કુલ નોટ નંગ 1,29,000 શંકાસ્પદ બનાવટી ચલણી નોટો મળી આવેલ. જે નોટો કુલ 25,80,00,000 કબ્જે કરી હતી. આમ કરોડો રૂપિયાની નકલી નોટ મળતાની સાથે જ તાત્કાલિક સુરત જિલ્લા એસપી અને સુરત રેન્જ આઇ.જી ને જાણ કરવામાં આવી હતી અને તાત્કાલિક સુરત જિલ્લા એસપી હિતેશ જોરસર પણ તાત્કાલિક ઘટના સ્થળે પહોંચી ગયા હતા અને તપાસ કરી હતી.

સંડોવાયેલ આરોપીઓ

ડુપ્લીકેટ નોટો અલગ અલગ જિલ્લાઓમાં ફેરવાના હતા અને કેરલીક રકમ ઘરમાં માથી મળી.

આમ સુરત જિલ્લા પોલીસ દ્વારા કરોડો રૂપિયાની ડુબલીકેટ નોટ પકડી પાડતા જ જે તપાસ દરમ્યાન વિભાગીય પોલીસ અધિકારી બી.કે.વનારના માર્ગદર્શન અને સુપરવિઝન હેઠળ સઘન તપાસ તજવીજ હાથ ધરતા પકડાયેલ આરોપી હીતેશ પરશોતમભાઇ કોટડીયાએ તેના વતન ખાતે વધુ નોટો છુપાવેલ હોવાનુ જાણવા મળતા તાત્કાલીક એક ટીમ આરોપીના વતન મોટાવડાળા તા કાલાવડ જિ. જામનગર ખાતે મોકલી ૨૦૦૦/- તથા ૫૦૦/- ના દરની ૫૨,૭૪,૦૪,૦૦ -ના અંકિત મૂલ્યની બનાવટી ચલણી નોટો પતરાની પેટીઓમાં ઘાસ નીચે છુપાવેલી પકડી પાડવામાં આવેલ.

આ ગેંગનું કરોડોનું ડુપ્લીકેટ નોટોનું કાવતરું હતું

આમ તમામ આરોપીઓએ પુર્વ આયોજીત ગુનાહીત કાવતરૂ રચી વિકાસ જૈને નોટો જાતે અથવા બીજા સહ આરોપીઓ જોડે આરોપી દીનાનાથ યાદવ અને અન્ય સહ આરોપીની મદદગારીથી બનાવી બીજા આરોપી મારફતે સદરહુ બનાવટી નોટોને સાચી નોટો તરીકે બજારમાં ઇસમો અથવા કંપનીઓને બતાવી તથા પોતાના ટ્રસ્ટના નામનો ઉપયોગ કરી જુદાજુદા ઇસમો સાથે છેતરપીંડી વિશ્ર્વાસઘાત કરેલ તથા અંગત આર્થીક ફાયદો મેળવવાના ઇરાદાથી વટાવવા અર્થે પોતાના કબજામાં રાખી ભારતીય અર્થતંત્રને મોટુ નુકસાન થાય તે રીતે તમામ આરોપીઓએ સાથે મળી રુપીયા ૧૦૦,૦૦,૦૦,૦૦૦/- (સો કરોડ)ના અંકિત મૂલ્યની ૨૦૦૦/- તથા ૫૦૦/- ના દરની બનાવટી ચલણી નોટો બનાવટી હોવાનુ પોતે જાણતા હોવા છતાં તે બનાવી, મેળવી, ખરીદી, ગુનાહીત ઇરાદે પોતાના કબજામાં રાખી, ઉપયોગ કરી કુલ ૭૮,૫૪,૦૪,૦૦૦/ ( ઇઠ્યોતેર કરોડ ચોપ્પન લાખ ચાર હજાર)ના અંકિત મૂલ્યની બનાવટી ચલણી નોટો સાથે ત્રણ આરોપીઓ પકડાઇ ગયા હતા.

તેમજ બાકીની બનાવટી ચલણી નોટો બજારમાં વટાવી, સગેવગે કરી, અથવા નાશ કરી ગંભીર ગુનો આચરેલ હોઇ, અને તપાસ કરતા ગુનાહિત જણાય આવતા કામરેજ પો.સ્ટે.ખાતે ભારતીય ફોજદારી ધારાની કલમ- ૪૮૯(૧),(ખ),(ગ),૪૦૬,૪૨૦,૨૦૧,૧૨૦(બી) મુજબ ની ફરીયાદ સરકાર તરફે નોંધી. રીકવર કરવાનો બાકીનો બનાવટી ચલણી નોટોનો જથ્થો કોઇ જ્ગ્યએ સંતાડી રાખેલ છે કે કોઇ ને આપી વટાવેલ છે ? વિગેરે મુદ્દાઓ ઉંડાણપૂર્વકની તપાસ તજવીજ કરવામાં આવી રહેલ છે.

However, multiple sources confirmed that it would not be possible to recover the spacecraft. Isro’s UR Rao Satellite Centre (URSC) director on September 27 communicated the same and Isro will officially announce it soon, a scientist said.
Another senior scientist told TOI: “There was a really long eclipse in April 2022. The satellite had been designed with autonomous functions to come out of eclipses and it has done it in the past too. While recovering from the eclipse, the fuel may have been exhausted. The other reason could be that while exiting the eclipse a command for a roll-spin to change direction is done, which could have caused the Earth-facing antenna to change direction.”

As reported by TOI earlier, the spacecraft had handled two black-out phases during an eclipse and one white-out phase in the first year around Mars and another in the second year. In all these instances, the spacecraft was completely autonomous without any help from the ground.
The Rs 450-crore mission, which was launched on the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV), put India in an elite club of nations to have carried out a mars mission. That the country achieved it in its first attempt was a feather in the cap.
“Now, we are trying to ascertain the exact reason — whether it is the exhaustion of fuel or antenna being unable to communicate — but one thing is for certain, we won’t be able to recover the spacecraft any more,” the scientist further explained.
Carrying five payloads, including a Methane Sensor for Mars (MSM) and the Mars Colour Camera (MCC), MOM had sent in more than 1TB (one terabyte) of data from the Red Planet in its first year and at least 5TB of data when it completed five years.
However, Isro is yet to officially announce anything on the detection of Methane, which was one of MOM’s principal objectives.
That said, the scientific data from the mission has been rich and led to several papers over the years and a large dataset is still being analysed by various scientific institutions.

Fake Call Centre Cheating US Citizens Busted in Maharashtra; 16 Arrested

Offences were registered against the accused under relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code, Information Technology Act and the Indian Telegraph Act. The accused were on Saturday produced before a local magistrate who remanded them in police custody for seven days.

Thane police have busted a fake call centre which allegedly duped US citizens after offering them loans and arrested 16 people in this connection, an official said on Sunday. Acting on a tip-off, the police raided the call centre located in Wagle Estate area of Maharashtra’s Thane city on the intervening night of Friday-Saturday and nabbed the people working there, including three women, senior police inspector V B Murtadak said.

He said the accused would contact people in the US and offer them loans. After obtaining their bank account details, the accused would siphon off funds from their accounts, the official said. An agent coordinating in the US would collect the money and transfer it to India through ‘hawala’ after taking his share from it, the police said.

Hawala denotes illegal transaction of funds by skirting the legal banking channels. The 16 people arrested include the call centre owners – Siddesh Sudhir Bhaidkar (33) and Sania Rakesh Jaiswal (26), the official said.

A juvenile was also detained in connection with the offence and later handed over to his parents after completion of legal formalities, the official said. The police have seized various equipment, gadgets and data from the call centre, he said. પાકિસ્તાનમાં શાહબાઝ શરીફ કેબિનેટે શુક્રવારે ઔપચારિક રીતે પૂર્વ વડા પ્રધાન ઈમરાન ખાન વિરુદ્ધ તેમના ઓડિયો લીકને લઈને કાનૂની કાર્યવાહી શરૂ કરવાનો નિર્ણય લીધો છે. એક સમાચારમાં આ જાણકારી આપવામાં આવી છે. સમાચાર અનુસાર, તાજેતરમાં લીક થયેલા ઓડિયોમાં પાકિસ્તાન તહરીક-એ-ઇન્સાફ (પીટીઆઈ)ના ત્રણ નેતાઓને પાર્ટી પ્રમુખ ઈમરાન ખાન સાથે અમેરિકન સિફર વિશે વાત કરતા સાંભળી શકાય છે. આ મુજબ, આ લીક થયેલા ઓડિયોમાં ખાન પોતાની સરકારને તોડવાના કથિત ષડયંત્રની પણ વાત કરી રહ્યા હતા. આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય સમાચાર અહીં વાંચો.

ખાનના બાની ગાલા સ્થિત આવાસ પર દરોડા પાડવાની માંગ કરવામાં આવી છે.

દરમિયાન, પાકિસ્તાન મુસ્લિમ લીગ-નવાઝ (PML-N)ના નેતા મરિયમ નવાઝ શરીફે શનિવારે વડા પ્રધાન શેહબાઝ શરીફની આગેવાની હેઠળની સરકાર પ્રત્યે અસંતોષ વ્યક્ત કર્યો હતો અને કહ્યું હતું કે સરકાર ઘણા આરોપો હોવા છતાં ખાનની ધરપકડ કરવામાં નિષ્ફળ રહી છે. તેઓએ ખાનના બાની ગાલા નિવાસસ્થાન પર દરોડા પાડવાની માંગ કરી હતી. નાણાપ્રધાન ઈસાક ડારે કહ્યું કે ખાન “સત્તાના ભૂખ્યા” છે અને કોઈપણ કિંમતે દેશ પર શાસન કરવા માંગે છે.

UK minister hints immigration policy change: What it means for Indians, students | World News

UK’s Liz Truss government hopes to abide by the 2019 election pledge of reducing net migrants in the country, new interior minister Indian-origin Suella Braverman said in an interview with The Sun on Sunday.

Suella Braverman stated that Britain has a high number of low-skilled migrants and a large number of international students adding that the students more often brought dependents with them to UK thereby affecting the country’s growth.

“What we’ve got is too many low skilled workers coming into this country. We’ve also got a very high number of students coming into this country and we’ve got a really high number of dependents,” the interior minister said.

“Those people are coming here, they’re not necessarily working or they’re working in low-skilled jobs, and they’re not contributing to growing our economy,” Suella Braverman added asserting that the UK government will reduce migration and review immigration policy.

According to UK’s office for national statistics, the net migration to UK was 239,000 in the year ending June 2021. As European Union workers in UK reduce post-Brexit, there has been a rise in the number of non-EU workers especially from India. Therefore, reduction in the net migration in UK could impact Indian immigrants and students wishing to study in Britain.

Earlier this week, Guardian reported that Liz Truss could change immigration rules to manage the severe labour shortage in the country- not in tandem with Suella Braverman’s comments.
