Hero MotoCorp’s first electric scooter to launch on Oct 7: Everything we know so far

Hero MotoCorp is finally set to enter the ever-growing electric two-wheeler space by launching its first electric scooter in India on October 7. While the company is yet to confirm the launch date, invites were sent out to dealers, investors, and global distributors for the said event, set to take place in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
Ahead of its official debut, here is a list of everything that we know about the upcoming Hero MotoCorp electric scooter so far –
Branding
Not to be confused with Hero Electric, Hero MotoCorp will be launching its first electric scooter under the ‘Vida’ brand in order to avoid conflict with the former, owned by Vijay Munjal and son Naveen Munjal.
Extensive testing
Hero MotoCorp says that instead of rushing to be a part of the EV bandwagon, the manufacturer decided to “get it right”. The company claims that its first electric scooter has been tested for over 2 lakh km, with 1,006 prototypes have been used so far. Hero proudly calls it ‘India’s not-first electric scooter’.
Design

While Hero MotoCorp is yet to reveal the design of the electric scooter, a silhouette was revealed some time back. Images of the scooter were also leaked online about a year ago, revealing the production-ready version of the EV inside the company’s R&D facility in Jaipur. However, the same is yet to be confirmed by the brand.
Features on offer
Hero claims that the electric scooter will be offered with a range of best-in-class features. The equipment on offer could include alloy wheels, disc brakes on both ends, a digital instrument cluster, connected-tech and more.
Rivals
Upon arrival in the Indian market, the Hero MotoCorp/Vida’s electric scooter will directly put up against the likes of TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak electric, as well as the Ola Electric S1.

Prabhas’ Adipurush under fire as Ajay Devgn's VFX company issues statement

Ajay Devgn’s NY VFXwaala has issued an official statement to declare that it has nothing to do with Prabhas’ Adipurush. The movie is directed by Om Raut who has earlier made Tanhaji, for which Devgn won the National Award 2022 for Best Actor.

NY VFXwaala’s statement says, “We are putting this on record because we have been asked by a few media people.” A number of people earlier claimed that the company was responsible for doing the VFX of the movie.

High-profile Ramayana retelling “Adipurush” is already embroiled in controversy four months before its scheduled release because of the way Ravana and Hanuman are portrayed. It is also under fire for its “poor” visual effects. Social media users have questioned whether Saif Ali Khan is portraying Raavan, Babar or Alauddin Khilji in the movie based on his appearance with a beard.

The multilingual historical drama, which stars “Baahubali” actor Prabhas in the titular role as Lord Ram, also stars Khan as Lankesh, a king of demons with ten heads. Many criticised the makers for what they claimed was the apparent “Islamisation” of Ravana. Criticism was also levelled at the portrayal of Hanuman, who was seen wearing leather clothing and sporting a beard but no moustache.

As hashtags like #BoycottAdipurush and #BanAdipurush gained speed, Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra on Tuesday warned the makers of the film of legal action if scenes showing Hindu religious figures in the “wrong” way were not removed.

“I have seen the teaser of ‘Adipurush’. There are objectionable scenes in it,” Mishra, who is also the spokesperson of the state government, told reporters in Bhopal.

The dresses and look of Hindu deities as seen in the trailer were not acceptable, he said.

“Hanuman ji is shown wearing leather, whereas the description (in the scriptures) of the deity’s costume is different… These are scenes that hurt religious sentiments. I am writing a letter to Om Raut to remove all such scenes from the film. If not removed, we will consider legal action,” Mishra said.

Director Raut and the film’s producer Bhushan Kumar were unavailable for comment despite several attempts by PTI to reach out to them.

Adipurush is being heavily trolled for its ‘poor’ VFX standards.

Others claimed that the VFX was a major letdown for a movie with an alleged budget of ₹500 crore, making it one of the most costly Indian movies ever produced. Social media users seemed amused and disappointed by the computer-generated images in some parts of the platform. CGI, which is typically an expensive process, is utilised to produce imaginative visual effects in movies.

Surat Kamrej Fake Currency Accused

ગુજરાતના(Gujarat) કામરેજમાં મળેલી નકલી ચલણી નોટ(Fake Curruncy) મામલે નવો જ ઘટસ્ફોટ થયો છે. 52 કરોડ થી વધુ ની નકલી નોટનો રેલો ગુજરાત, મુંબઈ(Mumbai)બાદ હવે છેક દિલ્હી સુધી પહોંચ્યો છે. પોલીસે મુંબઈથી માસ્ટર માઈન્ડ વિકાસ જૈન સહિત અન્ય 2 લોકો ને મુંબઈ થી ઝડપી પાડ્યા હતાં અને પોલીસે અલગ અલગ જગ્યા પરથી 317 કરોડ ની રેકોર્ડ બ્રેક નકલી નોટ પકડી પાડી હતી. જેમાં 67 લાખ 500 અને 1000 ની જૂની નોટો પણ કબ્જે કરવામાં છે. અત્યાર સુધી 6 લોકો ની સુરત જિલ્લા પોલીસ ની ટીમે ધરપકડ કરી છે. ગત તારીખ 29 ના રોજ કામરેજ પોલીસે કામરેજ નજીકથી જામનગરની એક ચેરીટેબલ ટ્રસ્ટની એમ્બ્યુલન્સ માંથી કરોડોની ચલણી નોટ ઝડપી પાડી હતી. જે સમગ્ર પ્રકરણમાં એમ્બ્યુલન્સમાં ચાલક હિતેશ ના ઘરના પાછળના ભાગેથી સંતાડેલી 52 કરોડથી વધુની ચલણી નકલી નોટો મળી આવી હતી.

લોજીસ્ટિક કંપની ના માલિક વિકાસ જૈન સહિત છ લોકોની ધરપકડ

આ સમગ્ર મામલે તપાસ દરમિયાન આ બનાવટી નોટોના રેલાએ મુંબઈ તરફ વળાંક લીધો હતો અને મુંબઈ ખાતે રહેતા આ કેસના મુખ્ય સૂત્રધાર વિકાસ જૈન નું નામ સામે આવ્યું હતું. મુંબઈ પોલીસે મુખ્ય સૂત્રધાર અને વી.આર. લોજીસ્ટિક કંપની ના માલિક વિકાસ જૈન સહિત છ લોકોની ધરપકડ કરી છે. જેમાં 2.17 કરોડ જેટલી રકમ મુંબઈથી વિકાસ જૈનના ઓફિસ તેમજ અલગ અલગ ગોડાઉન પર થી ઝડપી પાડી છે. પોલીસે 67 કરોડ જેટલી રકમ નોટ બંધી સમયની 500 અને 1000 ની ચલણી નોટ પણ મળી આવી છે. હાલ તો જિલ્લા એલ સી બી ની ટીમે માસ્ટર માઇન્ડ વિકાસ જૈન તેનો ડ્રાઈવર અને અન્ય ઈસમ ની ધરપકડ કરવામાં આવી છે. સમગ્ર મામલે અત્યાર સુધી 6 લોકોને ઝડપી પાડવામાં આવ્યા છે.

ડિલિંગ કરતી વખતે અમુક રકમ એડવાન્સ ટોકન રૂપે લઇ લેતા હતાં

આ નકલી નોટો ઉત્તર ભારત થી મુંબઇ લાવવામાં આવી હતી. વી આર લોજીસ્ટિક કંપનીના માલિક વિકાસ જૈન અને સાથી આરોપી ઓ અનેક લોકો સાથે છેતરપિંડી કરી હતી. જેઓ જેતે વ્યક્તિ સાથે ડિલિંગ કરતી વખતે અમુક રકમ એડવાન્સ ટોકન રૂપે લઇ લેતા હતાં. જેમાં રાજકોટ ના એક વ્યાપારી સાથે એક કરોડ થી ઠગાઈ કર્યા નું બહાર આવ્યું છે.

સમગ્ર રેકેટ માં જ્યારે પહેલી વાર નોટ પકડાઈ ત્યારે આરોપીઓએ તેઓ ફિલ્મો ના શૂટિંગ માટે વાપરનાર હોવાનું જણાવી પોલીસ ને ગુમરાહ કરી હતી. જોકે તપાસ દરમિયાન રેલો મુંબઇ પહોંચ્યો હતો. અને વી.આર લોજીસ્ટિક કંપની નો માલિક વિકાસ જૈન આખું રેકેટ ચલાવતો હોવાનું બહાર આવ્યું હતું. જેમાં તેઓ ટ્રસ્ટ નો ખોટી રીતે ઉપયોગ કરી બનાવટી નોટો અસલી તરીકે બતાવી બુકીંગ ના નામે લાખો રૂપિયા પડાવી લેતા હતા.

મુખ્ય સૂત્રધાર વિકાસ જૈન એ ગુજરાત જ નહીં પરંતુ મુંબઇ , દિલ્હી તેમજ બેંગ્લોર માં આખું નેટવર્ક ઉભું કર્યું હતું. ને તમામ રાજ્યો માં મોંઘીદાટ ઓફિસો બનાવી હોવાનું તપાસ માં બહાર આવ્યું છે. સામાન્ય રીતે જોઈ કોઈ વ્યક્તિ ટ્રસ્ટ માં દાન આપનાર હોય તેમજ કોઈ જગ્યા એ નાણાં નું રોકાણ કરનાર હોય એવી વ્યક્તિઓ 50 ટકા રકમ કેસ માં પણ જોવા માંગતા તો તેઓ ને આ ઠગો વીડિયો કોલ ના મારફતે બનાવતી નોટો બતાવી વિશ્વાસ માં લેતા હતા. સમગ્ર મામલે ગ્રામ્ય પોલીસ ની સાથે બેંકર્સ તેમજ આરબીઆઈ ની ટીમ પણ સતત તપાસ નું મોનીટરીંગ કરી રહી છે.

Jio True 5G Launch Tomorrow, Trial Services In These 4 Cities

Jio True 5G will roll out for users in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Varanasi on Dussehra

New Delhi:

Reliance will roll out Jio True 5G tomorrow on Dussehra four cities – Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Varanasi – the company said in a statement today. It’s an invitation-only offer, Jio said, adding users will get unlimited 5G data with up to 1 gbps+ speed.

“The beta trial service for other cities will be announced progressively,” Jio said in the statement.

“Dussehra symbolises the triumph over hurdles caused by legacy technologies such as 2G, with knowledge and wisdom that Jio True 5G will genuinely enable,” the Mukesh Ambani-owned company said.

Jio has over 425 million users.

Jio said customers invited to try the 5G service don’t need to change their existing Jio SIM or 5G mobile phone as the service will be automatically upgraded to Jio True 5G.

“Our Prime Minister [Narendra Modi] has given a clarion call for accelerated roll-out of 5G across India to realise the full potential of a Digital India. In response, Jio has prepared an ambitious and the fastest ever 5G roll-out plan for a country of our size,” Akash M Ambani, Chairman, Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd, said in the statement.

“By embracing 5G, Jio will create nation-first platforms and solutions that will transform skill development, education, healthcare, agriculture, and many such sectors, with the promise of enabling a better life for every Indian,” Mr Ambani said.

“5G cannot remain an exclusive service available to the privileged few or those in our largest cities. It must be available to every citizen, every home, and every business across India. Only then can we dramatically increase productivity, earnings, and living standards across our entire economy, thereby creating a prosperous and inclusive society in our country,” he said.

ચૂંટણી પંચે (Election Commission) મંગળવારે તમામ રાજકીય પક્ષોને પત્ર લખ્યો છે. આ પત્રમાં ECIએ રાજકીય પક્ષોને તેમના મતદારોને ખોટા વચનો ન આપવા ચેતવણી આપી છે. ચૂંટણે પંચે કહ્યું છે કે રાજકીય પક્ષો જે પણ વચનો આપી રહ્યા છે, તેમણે અધિકૃત માહિતી પ્રદાન કરવી જોઈએ. પંચે કહ્યું છે કે આચાર સંહિતા માર્ગદર્શિકા 2015 માટે રાજકીય પક્ષોને ચૂંટણી વચનોના ભંડોળના સંભવિત માર્ગો અને માધ્યમો માટે તર્ક સમજાવવાની જરૂર છે. પંચે શોધી કાઢ્યું કે જાહેરાતો ખૂબ જ અનિયમિત, અસ્પષ્ટ છે અને મતદારોને ચૂંટણીમાં માહિતગાર પસંદગીનો ઉપયોગ કરવા માટે પૂરતી માહિતી પૂરી પાડતી નથી.

ચૂંટણી પંચ કહે છે કે ચૂંટણી વચનો પર અપૂરતી જાહેરાત અને પરિણામે નાણાકીય સ્થિરતા પર અનિચ્છનીય અસરને અવગણી શકાય નહીં, કારણ કે ચૂંટણી વચનોની દૂરગામી અસરો હોય છે. કમિશને ફાઈનાન્સ કમિશન, આરબીઆઇ, એફઆરબીએમ, સીએજી અને બજેટમાં ઉપયોગમાં લેવાતા પ્રમાણભૂત પરિમાણોને વ્યાપકપણે કેપ્ચર કરવા માટે એક મિનિટનો ડિસ્કલોઝર પ્રોફોર્મા નિર્ધારિત કર્યો છે. કમિશન મુજબ, ભૌતિક કવરેજની માત્રા, વચનની નાણાકીય અસરો અને નાણાકીય સંસાધનોની ઉપલબ્ધતા જાહેર કરવા માટે ડિસ્ક્લોઝર પ્રોફોર્મા ફરજિયાત છે.

ચૂંટણી પંચને લાગે છે કે રાજકીય પક્ષો દ્વારા અપાતા પોકળ ચૂંટણી વચનોની દૂરગામી અસરો છે. ચૂંટણી પંચનું કહેવું છે કે ચૂંટણી વચનો પર અપૂરતી જાહેરાતો અને પરિણામે નાણાકીય સ્થિરતા પર પડતી અનિચ્છનીય અસરને અવગણી શકાય નહીં. ચૂંટણી પંચે રાજકીય પક્ષોને તેમના ચૂંટણી વચનોની નાણાકીય સદ્ધરતાનું મૂલ્યાંકન કરવા માટે મતદારોને અધિકૃત માહિતી પ્રદાન કરવા માટે પત્ર લખ્યો છે.

Ahead Of KCR's National Party Launch, Chicken, Liquor Distributed

The party is likely to be called Bharatiya Rashtra Samiti, or BRS.

New Delhi:

A day before Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, or KCR, launches his national party, a video of a leader distributing whiskey and chicken has gone viral. 

In the video, shared by news agency ANI, Telangana Rashtra Samiti leader Rajanala Srihari was seen handing out liquor bottles and live chicken to locals in Warangal. With a big cutout of KCR on the transport vehicle stacked with the freebies, the leader can be seen personally handing it out to people who had gathered in a long queue. He also posed for pictures.

With an eye on the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, KCR is set to announce his national party on Dussehra. He is said to have discussed the roadmap for the launch of the national party.

An extended meeting of the TRS legislature party and state executive committee is expected to happen on Wednesday at Telangana Bhavan, in which a resolution will be moved on TRS becoming a national party. It is likely to be called Bharatiya Rashtra Samiti, or BRS.

The resolution seeking renaming of the TRS will be sent to the Election Commission. As a state-recognised party, the TRS can contest in any state.

Based on its performance in the upcoming 2024 national election, the TRS can seek national party status. Even before that it can get a national party status by getting six per cent votes in four or more states in the assembly elections.

KCR reportedly told senior party leaders that the BRS would emerge as an alternative to the BJP at the national level and that it would be a straight fight between the two in 2024.

The party is likely to contest assembly elections in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Delhi.

KCR is reportedly planning a massive rally in Delhi on December 9 when the BRS would be officially launched in the presence of organisations and leaders supporting it.

The Telangana Chief Minister has not held back in attacking the BJP repeatedly. He has also toured several Opposition ruled states and met prominent leaders in an attempt to stitch together a coalition of like-minded parties against the BJP.

Gujarat: 10 killed after truck hits three-wheeler in Vadodara | Vadodara News

VADODARA: At least 10 people were killed when a truck hit a three-wheeler ferrying passengers on a national highway in Gujarat’s Vadodara on Tuesday.
The accident took place near Golden chowki in the city. The container truck was coming from Surat.

“A container truck lost balance after hitting a car and jumped on the wrong side of the road after breaking the divider and crashed into a ‘chhakra’ (three-wheeler),” police said.

Post the crash, the three-wheeler turned into mangled remains, they added.

A ‘chhakra’ is a modified open three-wheeler used for commuting and transportation of goods in parts of Gujarat.
The vehicle has the front half of a motorbike with a two-wheeled carriage at the back.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief at the loss of lives in the accident and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh for the next of kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for the injured.
Gujarat chief minister Bhupendra Patel has announced a compensation of Rs 4 lakh each for families of those who died in the accident and Rs 50,000 for those injured.

South African Organisation Assembles Worlds Longest Line Of Lollipops

The achievement resulted in a record for the longest line of lollipops.

By creating a line of 11,602 lollipops, a South African charity for aquatic rescue set a Guinness World Record. Twenty-seven volunteers from Station 5 of the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) came together to test the candy-arranging records on the Durban Beachfront Promenade.

According to the Guinness World Records, on August 6, 2022, 27 volunteers from NSRI Station 5 came together in the sweltering heat for the official record attempt on Durban Beachfront Promenade. To achieve the record, the line had to be at least 9,999 lollipops long. Every single one had to be touching, so attention to detail was key. The attempt would fail if any breaks were discovered in the line, no matter how minor.

One volunteer at NSRI Station 5 Luthando Ngqulunga told Guinness World Records, “We do the most difficult work in saving lives, so laying down the lollipops will be just like a walk in the park. Plus, we are very competitive in nature.”

“The NSRI is a volunteer-led rescue organisation that is on call 24/7. It was established in 1967, following the tragic loss of three fishing vessels near Stilbaai the previous year,” reported the Guinness World Records.

One Terrorist Arrested In Punjab, Cops Say Module Backed By Pak Spy Agency ISI

Two sophisticated AK-56 assault rifles along with two magazines and 30 live cartridges were recovered.

Chandigarh:

Punjab police on Tuesday claimed to have busted an ISI-backed narco-terrorism module by arresting its main operative and recovering arms and explosives from his possession.

The arrested accused has been identified as Yograj Singh alias Yog, a resident of Rajoke village in Tarn Taran district. The module was being jointly operated by Canada-based Lakhbir Singh alias Landa, Pakistan-based Harvinder Singh Rinda and Italy-based Harpreet Singh alias Happy, the police said.

The group was backed by Pakistan spy agency Inter-Services Intelligence, they said.

Amritsar Rural Police smashed the module amid an intensified vigil by the Punjab Police against anti-social elements ahead of the festival season, said Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav here.

Besides, the police have also identified five more accomplices who were part of the group and were carrying out illegal activities across Punjab and adjoining states.

A manhunt has been launched to nab them, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Amritsar Rural Swapan Sharma said, adding that the unearthing of the “Landa-Rinda terror module” was a major success for the state police.

The police have recovered “an RDX loaded tiffin box fabricated into an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) or tiffin bomb, two sophisticated AK-56 assault rifles along with two magazines and 30 live cartridges, one .30 bore pistol along with six live cartridges and 2 kg heroin from the accused”, DGP said in a statement.

DGP Yadav said that Yograj is the main operative of this module and is wanted by the state police and central enforcement agencies in at least five criminal cases, including the one where five AK-47 assault rifles were seized in Tarn Taran in September 2019.

He said preliminary investigations has revealed that the cross-border operations of arms-explosives-drugs smuggling were mainly handled by Yograj on the directions of Landa, Rinda and Happy and jailed smuggler Gurpavitar alias Sai of Lakhna of Tarn Taran.

Yograj had been active in recovery and further delivery of consignments of arms and drugs at a large scale, he added.

SSP Sharma said that further investigations are on and more recoveries of arms and explosives are expected soon
