Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan attended the star-studded wedding reception of actor Ali Fazal and Richa Chadha with his girlfriend Saba Azad on Tuesday.

The wedding reception which underwent on Tuesday night in Mumbai saw Hrithik Roshan and Saba Azad among the early guests to arrive at the venue. Alongside posing for the cameras on the red carpet, Hrithik and Saba were all smiles for the camera.

Hrithik Roshan and Saba Azad made a couple-entry at the venue. The ‘Vikram Vedha’ star was dressed in a crisp black suit, on the other hand, Saba kept it all traditional, as she opted for a lustrous green kurta set.

Richa and Ali donned ‘stunning’ designer outfits for their wedding reception. While the bride was seen wearing a colourful handcrafted gown from Anamika Khanna, Ali looked dapper in an Indo- Western suit featuring a long coat which was designed by Kaushik Velendra. The star couple posed hand-in-hand and also shared some hearty moments with the paparazzi. They also distributed gifts for the media individuals who had come to cover their wedding reception.

Talking to the media about finally being among the Bollywood celebs who are married, Ali said, “We are really happy to receive so much love, so many blessings. I had not expected this but thanks a lot from the bottom of my heart.”

Earlier today, the couple’s spokesperson had given a clarification regarding their wedding date and stated that they have already been “legally married for 2.5 years. Currently, they are only celebrating as already mentioned by them on 29th September in their statement with friends and family,” they added.

Regarding their wedding celebrations, the spokesperson added, “They wanted to celebrate both their Punjabi and Lucknowi culture. The details of their celebrations were curated to thoughtfully reflect their persona and their heritage. The clothes too were designed with special touches being added through heirloom jewellery and custom made trousseau including a saree custom made to reflect their love story.”

Richa and Ali first met on the sets of ‘Fukrey’ in 2012 and soon fell in love.

No One Dares To Indulge In Stone-Pelting In Jammu And Kashmir Now: Amit Shah

At least 42,000 people lost their lives due to terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, Amit Shah said.

Jammu:

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday said 42,000 people lost their lives to terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir over the years but security situation has improved now to such an extent that no one dares to call a hartal or indulge in stone-pelting.

Mr Shah also said the Modi government wants to end terrorism, corruption, bring all-round development and make Jammu and Kashmir number one in the country.

A zero tolerance policy has been adopted towards terrorism, ensuring complete control of the security forces over the situation, he said, while inaugurating or laying foundation stones of development projects here.

He said, “42,000 people lost their lives due to terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. Those who support terrorism sitting in the government were identified and action has been taken.” Those who used to call ‘hartal’ or pelt stones on security forces were curbed totally and now no one has courage to give any such call, he said. “Do you know why there is not a single stone-pelting incident in Kashmir now. Because stone-pelters were sitting in the government at that time.” He also said there has not been a single encounter now as terrorists were given an opportunity to surrender.

Mr Shah said terror incidents have come down by 56 per cent, casualties among security forces by 84 per cent. Recruitment as terror cadres has also come down, he said.

Holding J&K’s three political families responsible for the “backwardness” of Jammu and Kashmir, he said the UT lagged behind on all development parameters due to their alleged misrule.

But the situation changed after 2014 as the Modi government gave priority to Jammu and Kashmir’s development, and it is progressing well now, he said.

Even though Mr Shah did not identify the three families the obvious reference was to the Abdullahs (National Conference) Muftis (PDP) and the Nehru-Gandhi (Congress).

He said there has been big changes ever since Article 370 and Article 35-A were abrogated on August 5, 2019.

The home minister said that from independence till 2019, investments worth just Rs 19,000 crore had come to Jammu and Kashmir. But after 2019, Rs 56,000-crore worth investment has come to Jammu and Kashmir, he said.

He said as many as 27 lakh people of Jammu and Kashmir are now getting health insurance benefits of up to Rs 5 lakh while 58 per cent people getting piped water in their homes.

Those eligible are also getting STs quota benefits, he said.

Those who wanted to indulge in corruption continue to do so for 75 years which stopped in 2019.

He also referred to the Rs 80,000 crore development projects announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi a few years ago saying the projects are progressing well while some have already been fully implemented.

The package consists of 63 projects concerning 15 ministries and has an outlay of Rs 80,068 crore.

The 27-year-old Chennai-born Ramkumar, ranked 297 in the World Rankings, could not capitalise on his chances as he went down to the 23-year-old Noguchi, who is ranked 291.

Ramkumar had qualified for the main draw by beating Elias Yiner of Sweden 5-7, 6-4, 6-1 in the second qualifying round. He had overcome Japan’s Ryota Tanuma in straight sets in the first qualifying round.

Ramkumar is still in the fray in the doubles competition as he will partner Australia’s Alexei Popyrin in the main draw. They will take on second seeds Matthew Ebden and Max Purcell in the first round.

After a crucial role in Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmastra’, King Akkineni Nagarjuna is spearheading his upcoming film, ‘The Ghost’. It is all set for a Dussehra release on October 5. He has been busy promoting the movie for a few days. And in an interview, the actor talked about the film, the brilliant technical values, why he chose to star in the movie, the supporting cast, the directors’ vision and more.

Excerpts:

Why did you pick ‘The Ghost’?

I have starred in many action movies, but I have never done a stylish action entertainer that has emotion before. I was amazed by the way Praveen Sattaru picturized the action in ‘Garuda Vega’. I called Praveen and told him to make a solid action movie. Then, he penned the story of ‘The Ghost’ with me in mind. I took three weeks of training for action episodes in this film.

You have never done such aggressive promotions before. Why is this movie so special?

There is a nice family line in the story of ‘The Ghost’. The bond between a sister and his brother will be affectionate and great. I loved the characterization of the hero who fights for his sister and family. I always love to do something new. Praveen Sattaru has uniquely presented this story, and you will realize it after watching. The action sequences and the bond between a brother and his sister have been shown brilliantly. I was shocked and impressed after watching the movie. The audience will also feel the same in terms of action when they come out of the theatres. The church fight in the climax will be one of the main highlights of the movie.

Is there any story behind Tamahagane’s weapon in ‘The Ghost’?

There is a back story behind the Tamahagane weapon. Director Praveen Sattaru has narrated to me a very interesting story behind the precious sword, which is not mentioned in this movie. We liked it and unveiled a glimpse of the same. If this movie becomes successful, we will reveal the back story too.

You compared The Ghost with your 1989 film Siva. Is there any reason behind your comparison?

In fact, when I heard the story of this movie, I did not get that comparison. While watching The Ghost, I felt that there was the same emotion that we saw in Siva.

All kinds of elements were shown in the trailer. How did you feel when the story was told with so many elements?

That is the beauty of this film. All the emotions are perfectly balanced. The character of the heroine is also very mature. The relationship between hero and heroine is something new and we haven’t seen such rapport in films recent past.

Along with your film, Chiranjeevi’s ‘God Father’ will also be released on the same day. What would you say about the clash?

We are good friends. There were many instances where two films have released on the same day and became successful. If the film is good, the audience will definitely watch it. Siva movie was released on 5th October. A fan called me and said that Ninne Pelladutha was released on October 4. I told him The Ghost releases in the US on October 4.

There is a trend of re-releasing old films. Will Siva release again?
Absolutely. We are making Siva in 4K digital. At present, the digitalisation work is happening at a brisk pace. Not only that but also all Telugu films should be digitalized. Unfortunately, some of the negatives were damaged.

The Ghost’s cast looks new, doesn’t it?

We have selected the actors who are suitable for the roles. We have tried to create a new visual thereby.

You are starring in Bollywood films. Actors like Salman Khan are doing Telugu films. Can you think that the boundaries have been erased?

Now, there is no such thing as boundaries. If you look at the response to RRR in the US, it seems that not only the borders of the country but also the world have been eroded. My role in Brahmastra also got a good response.

Tell us about The Ghost’s technical team.

‘The Ghost’ is a film with excellent technical values. The audience will realize this after watching the movie. As much as the sound design was applauded in Siva, now the technical values in The Ghost will also be much admired.

How was your experience working with Praveen Sattaru?

Praveen Sattaru is a visionary director. He takes a lot of time for his homework. However, the pre-production that he did was perfectly realistic. Due to his perfect pre-production, the film was wrapped up in just 66 days.

What’s next for you?

There are three stories under discussion. They are in the action drama genre. Also, the talks for my web series’ debut are happening now.

Home Minister Amit Shah Gives Job Letters To Families of 4 Cops Killed By Terrorists

Home Minister Amit Shah handed over appointment letters to the family of 4 martyrs on Tuesday.

Srinagar:

Union Home Minister Amit Shah handed over appointment letters on Tuesday to the family of four Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel who were killed in terror-related violence in the valley, officials said.

“The families of four JKP martyrs were given job letters by the home minister at the Raj Bhavan here,” an official said.

The home minister shared photos on Twitter of his meeting with the relatives of the police personnel killed by terrorists in the Kashmir valley.

In a tweet in Hindi, Mr Shah said: “Met the family members of the Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel who were killed while fighting against terrorists and handed over appointment letters to the family of four such martyrs.” He also lauded the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s efforts in fighting against terrorism and said the entire country salutes their sacrifice.

With this, the families of 24 people killed by terrorists have received appointment letters from the home minister, the officials said.

On March 18, Mr Shah handed over appointment letters in Jammu to the family of four Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel who sacrificed their lives fighting terrorists in the valley.

In October last year, during his first visit to Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution, Mr Shah met the family members of Inspector Parvaiz Ahmad in Nowgam. Ahmad was also killed by terrorists.

The home minister had handed over the appointment letter for a government job to Ahmad’s family.

3 Arrested After Viral Video Showed Them Mercilessly Thrashing A Dog

Bengaluru cops arrested three men who were seen mercilessly thrashing a dog in a viral video. The horrific video of the incident shows them brutally flogging a chained dog with thick wooden sticks. One of the men also pushed the person recording the video when they tried to intervene.

The men continued hitting the dog, who lay on the ground wailing in pain, and walked away while the family of the dog’s owner tried to confront them.

The men assaulted the pet dog on Monday night because it had barked at them. The owner of the dog has admitted the injured animal to a veterinary hospital.

The owner filed an official complaint on the basis of which a case under the Prevention of Cruelty Against Animals Act was filed, leading to the arrest of three men – Rahul, Rohit and Rajat.

The incident was reported in the Manjunatha Layout in East Bengaluru, which comes under KR Puram Police Station.

More than 200 residents of a housing society in Sector 72 here fell ill with complaints of vomit, bloating, fever, and diarrhoea possibly from infected supply of water. The mass breakout was reported in the Spaze Privy society which comprises about 600 houses with about 2,000 people living in them.

The city health department on Tuesday conducted an emergency OPD in the society, examining 80 people and treating 60 of them for nausea, vomiting, and loose motion. The health department team has taken samples of water and test reports are awaited. The RWA of the society had on Monday emailed deputy commissioner, MCG commissioner, and the civil surgeon reporting an outbreak of gastroenteritis in Spaze Privy society.

We suspect it to be water-borne bacterial infection from the water being supplied which has caused a health scare in the society, the RWA said in a communique. Dr Virender Yadav, Civil Surgeon, Gurugram, directed issued directions for collection of water samples and setting up a health checkup camp, an official statement said.

Today the medical team from UPHC Fazilpur organised a medical health checkup camp at Club house of the said condominium. 80 patients were examined, out of which 60 patients had nausea, vomiting and loose stool. There was no case of moderate or severe dehydration. Proper checkup was conducted of each and every patient. ORS and necessary medications were distributed and the report of the water sample is awaited, the civil surgeon said.

10 Hizbul, Lashkar Members Designated As Terrorists By Home Ministry

They were designated as terrorists by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs.

New Delhi:

 A total of 10 members of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and other proscribed outfits were on Tuesday designated as terrorists by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

Those designated as terrorists include Habibullah Malik alias Sajid Jutt, a Pakistani national, Basit Ahmad Reshi, who hails from Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla but is currently based in Pakistan, Imtiyaz Ahmad Kandoo alias Sajad, who hails from Jammu and Kashmir’s Sopore but now lives in Pakistan, Zafar Iqbal alias Salim, who is from Poonch but presently residing in Pakistan, and Sheikh Jameel-ur-Rehman alias Sheikh Sahab, who hails from Pulwama.

The others are Bilal Ahmad Beigh alias Babar, who hails from Srinagar but is currently based in Pakistan, Rafiq Nai alias Sultan of Poonch, Irshad Ahmad alias Idrees from Doda, Bashir Ahmad Peer alias lmtiyaz of Kupwara and Showkat Ahmad Sheikh alias Showkat Mochi of Baramulla, currently based in Pakistan.

In separate notifications, the MHA said Habibullah Malik was the key handler of the terrorists who carried out an attack on Indian soldiers in Poonch and has been involved in air-dropping of arms and communication systems through drones in the Jammu region for terrorists based in Jammu and Kashmir.

Malik has also created a wide network of hardcore terrorists and was the mastermind behind multiple terrorist attacks in the Kashmir valley, including a “fidayeen” (suicide) attack against Army personnel at Srinagar’s Hyderpora in June 2013 and the killing of a station house officer in Budgam’s Chadoora in December 2013.

Malik has been associated with LeT and The Resistance Front (TRF).

Basit Ahmad Reshi is a member of HM and was involved in subversive activities and coordinating target killings in Jammu and Kashmir.

He planned and executed a terror attack on a police guard post at the Baba Ali Raina shrine in Sopore’s Tajjaur Sharief Peth Astan on August 18, 2015, in which a police personnel and a civilian were killed, the MHA said.

Owing to his strong network of associates in his native place, Reshi coordinates recruitment of terrorists and execution of terror attacks, the ministry said.

He has been involved in managing arms and ammunition and terror-financing from across the border and motivating youngsters to join terror ranks.

Imtiyaz Ahmad Kandoo is a Hizbul Mujahideen member and has been involved in managing finances for terrorists, supplying arms and ammunition to ultras and narcotics smuggling.

Kandoo coordinated attacks, in which many security forces personnel and civilians were killed.

He has been involved in radicalising and motivating youngsters to carry out terror activities in Kashmir.

Zafar Iqbal is the operational commander of Harkat-ul-Jihad-e-Islami or Jammu Kashmir Ghaznavi Force and has been involved in supervising narcotics and weapons smuggling and infiltration of terrorists into Jammu and Kashmir.

Sheikh Jameel-ur-Rehman is the chief or “amir” of Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen (TuM) and has been involved in coordinating the activities of LeT, Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), HM and other amalgamates at the top level.

He has been involved in smuggling Pakistan-made explosives and in the movement of terrorists from across the border to India.

Bilal Ahmad Beigh, the chief of Jammu and Kashmir Islamic Front (JKIF), is involved in the smuggling of arms and ammunition into Jammu and Kashmir. He has been maintaining close contacts with notorious underworld entities and using the channels to transfer funds from abroad to Kashmir.

Rafiq Nai is a launching commander of TuM and Jammu Kashmir Ghaznavi Force and has been involved in the supervision of narcotics and weapons smuggling and infiltration of terrorists into the Poonch-Rajouri sector.

Irshad Ahmad is a launching commander of HM and is involved in coordinating training and launching activities of the terrorist organisation.

Bashir Ahmad Peer is a launching commander of HM and is responsible for providing logistics to its members, especially for infiltration into Kupwara.

Showkat Ahmad Sheikh is operating as the chief launching commander of HM and has been instrumental in spreading terror in Jammu and Kashmir, the MHA said.

Punjab Police Busts 2 ISI-Backed Terror Modules Operating From Canada

Cops recovered arms and ammunition, including a tiffin bomb and three hand grenades.

Chandigarh:

Punjab police on Tuesday claimed to have busted two terror modules, operated by foreign-based gangsters and terrorists and backed by Pakistan’s ISI, as it arrested two operatives and recovered arms and ammunition, including a tiffin bomb and three hand grenades.
        
In the first case, the arrested accused has been identified as Yograj Singh alias Yog, a resident of Rajoke village in Tarn Taran district. The narco-terrorism module was being jointly operated by Canada-based Lakhbir Singh alias Landa, Pakistan-based Harvinder Singh Rinda and Italy-based Harpreet Singh alias Happy, police said.

The police have recovered “an RDX loaded tiffin box fabricated into an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) or tiffin bomb, two sophisticated AK-56 assault rifles along with two magazines and 30 live cartridges, one .30 bore pistol along with six live cartridges and 2 kg heroin from the accused”, Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said. The group was backed by Pakistan spy agency Inter-Services Intelligence, the police said.

Punjab Police, in a separate case, arrested one more operative of the ISI-backed Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) terror module Harpreet Singh alias Hira.

Three hand-grenades and weapons have been recovered from his car, the DGP said, adding this particular terror module is being operated by Canada-based gangster Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh Dala, who is a close associate of KTF’s Canada-based chief Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

The arrested accused Harpreet Singh alias Hira is a resident of Jujhar Nagar in Bathinda.

The police have also recovered two pistols including .30 bore and 9 mm Bareta along with 60 live cartridges, he said.

The successes came amid an intensified vigil by the Punjab Police against anti-social elements ahead of the festival season, said Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav here.

The police have also identified five more accomplices of Yograj Singh who were allegedly carrying out illegal activities across Punjab and adjoining states.

A manhunt has been launched to catch them, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Amritsar Rural Swapan Sharma said, adding that the unearthing of the “Landa-Rinda terror module” was a major success for the state police.

DGP Yadav said that Yograj is the main operative of this module and is wanted by the state police and central enforcement agencies in at least five criminal cases, including the one where five AK-47 assault rifles were seized in Tarn Taran in September 2019.

He said preliminary investigations have revealed that the cross-border operations of arms-explosives-drugs smuggling were mainly handled by Yograj on the directions of Landa, Rinda and Happy and jailed smuggler Gurpavitar alias Sai of Lakhna of Tarn Taran.

Yograj had been active in recovery and further delivery of consignments of arms and drugs at a large scale, he added.

SSP Sharma said that further investigations are on and more recoveries of arms and explosives are expected soon.

The second module is operated by Canada-based gangster Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh Dala, DGP Yadav said.

Following a reliable input from Counter-intelligence Punjab, Moga Police laid a ‘naka’ at Kotkapura-Baghapurana road and rounded up the accused Harpreet, who was travelling to Amritsar in his white-colour car on Tuesday.

He said that during preliminary investigations, Harpreet confessed that he was going to deliver the hand grenades and arms consignment on the directions of close-associate of Arsh Dala identified as Amandeep Singh alias Babbu, who is currently lodged in Hoshiarpur Jail.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Moga Gulneet Singh Khurana said that accused Harpreet “revealed that the consignment was brought by Veeja Singh and Ranjodh Singh from the border area on the directions of Arsh Dala’s Manila-based associates identified as Manpreet Singh alias Pita and Amritpal Singh alias Ammy, who are also associated with terrorists in Pakistan”.

The accused also revealed that Manpreet Pita and Ammy have handed over the consignment to two unknown persons in Moga, who further assigned him to deliver it at an undisclosed location in Amritsar, the SSP claimed.

The development came two days after the arrest of two operatives identified as Veeja Singh alias Gagan alias Gaggu and Ranjodh Singh alias Jyoti of this module from the Chamkaur Sahib area.

Earlier, the Ferozepur Police had recovered one sophisticated AK-47 assault rifle along with two magazines and 60 live cartridges from the paddy fields of village Arifke in Ferozepur that were intended for retrieval by Veeja Singh and Ranjodh Singh.
