“My parents encouraged me to take part in the Miss England Pageant and I have got a lot of support from my friends, family and communities for Miss England. In the semi-finals of the pageant, I qualified as a finalist and won the talent round. For my talent I did Bollywood dancing, the first half was semi classical, and the second half was commercial. I was proud to showcase my culture at the pageant. I am trained in these dance forms. Miss England celebrates multiculturalism and diversity,” she says.
She adds, “The finals of the pageant are later this month in Birmingham. “There are many different rounds such as Sports, making an outfit out of recycled materials, submitting a Bare Face photo, Talent and raising money for Beauty with a Purpose charity. It would be an honour to be the first social worker to win the Miss England title and create history at the pageant.”
Speaking to us from the UK, she says, “My father came from a village in India where resources were scarce. However, he overcame this through education. He is the founder of a charity that sets up schools in the villages of India where children are not able to access education. My mother dedicated her professional career to being a Social Worker for children with disabilities. My parents are my biggest inspiration, and I am following in their footsteps.”
Neha also has an undergraduate degree in Social Work and was in India earlier this year to work for her NGO, The Happy Kids Campaign, in Haryana. “I have worked as a qualified children social worker for over six years, before going on to completed my postgraduate degree in Law. My career aim is to be a child rights lawyer,” she says.
Commenting on her social work she says, “Under The Happy Kids Campaign I work with charities across India that support underprivileged and vulnerable children by putting on fun and educational workshops to safeguard, support and educate them. I have been doing my charity work in India for nine years now. I am extremely passionate about supporting vulnerable children, I continue to raise awareness about social work and children’s rights.”
Neha has taken on the onus of teaching the children of the NGO subjects like Maths, English and organises art, drama and sports events. “I hope to provide these children creative opportunities and teach them new skills. Through my campaign I donate books and stationery to the children. I also donate sanitary pads to girls as they do not have access to this. I believe that the way to support these children is through education so that they can come out of poverty and break the cycle of abuse. Children are our future, so we need to safeguard and educate them,” she says.

The Delhi Police on Wednesday arrested two “members” of the banned Popular Front of India (PFI) who were booked under the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, officials said. A senior police officer said the two accused — Israr Ali Khan and Mohd Samoon, alleged to be PFI activists — were arrested from their houses in Khajuri Khas and Chand Bagh.
The arrests come a day after an FIR was registered against the two under Indian Penal Code sections 120 B (criminal conspiracy) and 153 A (promoting enmity between different groups), along with sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act at the Khajuri Khas police station, for allegedly planning and conspiring against the government and the country.
This is the second case registered under the UAPA against the PFI members in the national capital. Earlier, four people allegedly linked to the outfit were arrested by Delhi Police under the Act.
The Centre banned the PFI on September 28. Subsequently, the Delhi Police conducted raids at PFI units in six districts of the city and detained 33 people allegedly linked with the group.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday attended Dussehra festivities at the historical Red Fort ground in Delhi.
Speaking at the Lav Kush Ramlila Committee’s ‘Ravan Dahan’ programme, Mr Kejriwal wished for India to become the “best and strongest nation in the world”.
He said Ramlila is very important for the people as it connects them to the culture of the country and spreads the message of Lord Rama’s life.
Ramlila is the enactment of the victory of good over evil in the Hindu epic of Ramayana.
The chief minister also witnessed the burning of the effigies of demon king Ravana, his brother Kumbhkaran and son, Meghnad.
Actor Prabhas of ‘Baahubali’ fame also attended the event.
‘Ravan Dahan’ programmes were organised by different Ramlila committees at the Red Fort area that drew huge crowds after a two-year lull due to the Covid pandemic.

An 86-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her ex-driver who had entered her house in outer Delhi’s Rani Bagh area for robbing it, police said on Wednesday.
Accused Gopal managed to rob Rs 3,20,000 after killing the senior citizen and fled from the spot. The incident took place on Tuesday around 7:16 pm, they said.
The man was fired from his duty just a few days ago, police said.
The woman was brutally assaulted. Her family rushed her to Maya Muni Ram Hospital in Pitampura where doctors declared her brought dead, a senior police officer said.
From the enquiry of the crime scene, it was found that a room on the balcony side had blood splattered on its wall and blood-stained artificial teeth, a pair of ladies chappal and eyeglasses were lying on the floor, he said.
The mobile crime team of the outer district were called on the spot, which inspected the spot and picked up the exhibits, the officer said.
Statement of her son was recorded and subsequently, a case was registered, he added.
The CCTV cameras and all the routes of the culprits were analysed and the accused was apprehended from his rented room in Pitampura village, police said.
At the time of apprehension accused was packing his luggage and about to run away along with his wife, they said.
“During interrogation, the accused disclosed that he was aware that a lot of money was kept in the almirah in the house of the complainant. On Tuesday, he planned the robbery alone,” said Sameer Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer).
Hiding a knife with him, he roamed near the house the whole day to know the whereabouts of its residents, he said.
In the evening, he waited outside the NDPL office for about two hours to enter the house, which he entered soon after the complainant left for a walk with his wife. The elderly woman was already inside the house of which the accused had no knowledge, he said.
She started making noise when he entered the house, so he stabbed her in the neck with his knife, robbed the money from the almirah and ran away, he added.
The robbed amount and weapon of offence were recovered from the possession of the accused, police said.
