Heavy rain continues in Gir-Somnath. The district received 5 inches of rain from night till this morning. This caused floods in the Gir-Gadha, Rupen and Machundri rivers. The water of rivers is flowing through many roads and bridges connecting the rural areas. Due to this the connectivity of the villages with the district has been cut off. The Droneshwar dam of Gir-Somnath has resurfaced due to the floods in the Machundri river.

An orange alert has been issued in Gir Somnath district in view of the possibility of heavy rains for three days from tomorrow. The Meteorological Department has appealed to the people to be alert. Because, there is a possibility of heavy rain in the district till July 15. It has been raining in Gir-Somnath for 7 consecutive days. But it has been raining heavily for the last three days. This has disturbed the life of the people.

3 inches of rain in Talala
It has been raining heavily since morning in Gir-Gada-Una. According to the rainfall in the district from 10 am to 10 am today, Veraval 50 mm (2 inches), Talala 70 mm (3 inches), Sutrapada 90 mm (3.5 inches), Kodinar 70 (3 inches) ) it rained. Una has recorded 75 mm (3 inches) of rain and Gir-Ghada 120 mm (5 inches).

The Veraval-Kodinar National Highway has been closed for vehicles after diversion near Pedhwada village, which has been submerged in the Somat river. Vehicles are now being diverted from Sutrapada, which is a 7 km long single road. The villagers were in the grip of water logging after incessant rain from around 2 am to 7 am on Wednesday. Sources said that the flood waters have entered the houses of the villages, while many villages have been cut off from the main roads.
