Monsoon cultivation failed due to continuous rain in Bahucharaji taluka, only Bt cotton was sown
In Bahucharaji taluka, the farmers have not been able to plant millets and pulses in monsoon agriculture due to slow rains for the past one month. There are also fears of failure of Bt cotton planting in some places due to flooding of low-lying fields with an average of 4 to 5 inches of rain in the last week or so.

Monsoon usually arrives in Gujarat around 25th June. But this year, as the monsoon started late by 15 days and after it started raining continuously for a month or so, pulses, oilseeds and millets could not be planted in these two taluks.
