Lumpy screen disease symptoms are being seen in cattle in the state of Gujarat. Regarding this, the veterinary surgeon of Valsad Valsad district held a meeting with the veterinary surgeon of the taluka and informed the cattle breeders coming to the taluka about lumpy disease. Due to this, the veterinary team of the district has been running as many as 3 animals with symptoms of livestock lameness disease are found at the cow shelter of stray cattle managed by Agniveer Gau Rakshak on Tithal Road in Valsad.
3 animals with disease symptoms were found
In Rajkot and Kutch in the state of Gujarat, cattle are suffering from a disease called Lumpi. It is a disease caused by ticks and mosquitoes. The disease is spread by biting infected animals or mosquitoes biting healthy animals. In Rajkot and Kutch outbreak of Lumpi disease in all districts and all talukas of the state, instructions have been issued to create awareness among cattle keepers about Lumpi disease. 3 cattle with symptoms of lumpy disease were found at Gau Dham run by Agniveer Gau Rakshak on Tithal Road in Valsad.
Notice to quarantine infected animals
After informing the Valsad District Veterinary Department, a veterinary team immediately reached Gau Dham and quarantined the animals with Lumpina symptoms and vaccinated the remaining animals. The animal health department of the district has swung into action after the first case of Lumpina with suspicious symptoms was found in Valsad district. It is important to sensitize the animal breeders of the district to keep animals with normal symptoms away from healthy animals. 1962 helpline doctors in the medical department have been mobilized in the district. If any signs of lumpy are observed, the Valsad District Veterinarian has been instructed to immediately inform and administer appropriate treatment and quarantine the infected animals from other animals.
Symptoms of lumpy disease were seen last year
In Valsad district last year symptoms of lumpy disease were seen in the district. All the cattle keepers in the district have been made aware about Lumpy disease since last year. Cattle keepers were also sensitized to quarantine cattle with Lumpy disease and provide proper treatment. At present, 3 cases with suspicious symptoms have been observed in Valsad district. So said Valsad District Veterinarian PJ Desai.
Symptoms of Lumpy
Lumpy disease is a disease of cows and buffaloes. In lumpy disease, animals get tumors on their body. Animal feed decreases. Milk yield decreases in lactating animals. And animals show symptoms like fever and chills. Such animals should be removed from other healthy animals and the nearest veterinarian should be contacted for diagnosis and the death rate of animals can be reduced by providing proper management.
Treated stray animals
In Valsad city and district, the amount of stray cattle is high. Even the 1962 team, which is going to treat stray animals, has also been instructed to immediately seek the help of the district veterinary team and inform them if symptoms of Lumpy disease are detected.
