Taliban accuses Pakistan of allowing US drones to use its airspace
The Taliban’s acting defence minister on Sunday said Pakistan had allowed American drones to use its airspace to access Afghanistan, a charge Pakistan has recently denied following a U.S. air strike in Kabul. Yaqoob’s told reporters at a news conference in Kabul that American drones have been entering Afghanistan via Pakistan. Afghanistan also relies heavily on trade with Pakistan as the country experiences an economic crisis.

US warships transit Taiwan Strait, first since Pelosi visit
Two US Navy warships sailed through the Taiwan Strait on Sunday, the first such operation since the unprecedented Chinese military drills around the Taiwan, held in response to US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to the self-governed island earlier this month. The Chinese Navy is expected to closely monitor the passage of the two US warships and issue a strong statement criticising the passage.

Pakistan floods: Death toll tops 1,000; ‘very high’ level warning issued
The monsoon flooding in Pakistan continues to wreak havoc as 119 people died in the last 24 hours, according to figures released by the country’s National Disaster Management Authority, taking the total death toll from calamity to 1,033. Of the deaths recorded on Saturday, four were from Balochistan, six from Gilgit Baltistan, 31 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and 76 from Sindh. Over 700,000 livestock has also died in flood-related incidents.

Rapper Wiz Khalifa cut short a concert in suburban Indianapolis as people began fleeing the outdoor venue, leaving three with minor injuries, following a disturbance, police said. People started exiting Ruoff about 10:30 p.m. Friday after a reported disturbance on part of the amphitheater’s lawn, with some of them shouting about a possible shooting, The Indianapolis Star reported.
