Mati Purana work started to close the pas in Fadvel.

  • The lake was emptied by breaking the embankment, the locals demanded to stop the embankment

The pond in Phadwell located on the main road was emptied by the Sarpanch for the purpose of deepening. However, the latter was not deepened and the broken embankment was not constructed. The local taluka member Maheshbhai informed the TDO about this even before the monsoon, but the TDO did not show seriousness and ignored the presentation of the taluka member of the ruling party and no action was taken.

During the heavy rain a few days ago, the water of the lake entered the houses of about 10 to 12 laboring families of ghost hill, Samra Dev Paliya. These families had to spend these days under the threat of fear, with their houses being made of raw material and water constantly around the house.

After the break of rain, the villagers including former sarpanch Parvezbhai Italia ward member Ashish Patel, Thakorbhai, the priest of Vijay Patel temple, submitted a written representation to the district collector, DDO and others at the highest level and demanded to stop the pond maintenance. Periodical press reports were also published about Phalvel’s lake.

Meanwhile, Taluka Panchayat Extension Officer Bhartiben Patel also visited the place on Saturday and took the statements of the locals. From today, the Gram Panchayat had launched Mati Puran to stop the damming of the lake with the help of mechanical equipment like JCB-tractors.

However, apart from the use of stone (rubble) along with soil, if the dam is closed, the danger to the people will remain and rainwater will not be collected. However, now that the closure has been started, there is a feeling of relief and happiness among the locals.
