Aneru is the mahatmya of the two-decade-old Bhimeshwar Mahadev temple in Porbandar. During the month of Shravana, long queues of devotees are seen here. The temple was renovated in 2005 after the death of Bhimeshwar Mahadev in 1998 AD.
A two decade old Bhimeshwar Mahadev temple is located on the SSC ground road opposite Kaveri Hotel on the road leading from Kamalbagh to Narsang hill road in Porbandar town. And Bhimeshwar Mahadev was cremated here two decades ago. Years ago Bhimbhai Bhutia, who had unwavering faith in Lord Shiva, and after his demise, Bhimbhai Bhutia’s family dedicated the temple of Bhimeshwar Mahadev here.
The fund which was collected by the people including the workers working in the SSC company, the fund and with the support of Bhimbhai Bhutia’s family members, the life of this temple was done. The temple was constructed in the year 2005 after the temple was consecrated in 1998. Devotees visit the Bhimeshwar Mahadev temple throughout the year, and long queues of Shiva devotees are seen here during the month of Shravan. The two decades old Bhimeshwar Mahadev is another Mahatma of the temple.
A religious program including Mahaprasadi will be held on every Monday of Shravan month
At the temple of Bhimeshwar Mahadev, rotlas are made daily for 50 dogs, and a katha is organized here on the Poonam day of every month. Also Batuk food is organized with the support of donors, special darshan of Bhimeshwar Mahadev will be held on every Monday of Shravan month, according to Bhura Maharaj, the priest of the temple. Mahaprasadi will be organized here every Monday and grand Bhagwat Week is also held every year.
