The Indian Army is increasing its fire power by deploying these guns at forward positions in Arunachal Pradesh. Earlier these guns were deployed in some sensitive areas of Ladakh sector. This was at a time when the border dispute with China escalated. India has an almost 3500 km long LAC, along which the Indian Army is deployed at all important and strategic locations. In June 2020, there was a high tension between the Indian and Chinese armies after a clash with Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley.

Indian Army officials said that deployment of M-777 Ultra Light Howitzer has given us more strength. Also we have deployed drones, military aircraft and surveillance related equipment at the border. Army cannot bring heavy cannon or artillery here. Mountain roads are dangerous. That is why the M-777 Ultra Light Howitzer is brought here. They can be easily picked up by Chinook helicopters. Or you can tow it by any car.

Retreat of Indian and Chinese troops after consensus

It is to be mentioned that Indian and Chinese troops have started retreating in the Gogra-Hotsprings area of ​​Eastern Ladakh. The statement said the idea is based on the consensus reached at the 16th round of India-China Corps Commander level meeting. A coordinated and planned withdrawal of troops from both countries is conducive to peace in the border areas.

As a result of diplomatic and military negotiations between the two sides, troops have started withdrawing from some areas. Currently around 50,000 to 60,000 troops are deployed in sensitive sectors along the LAC of both countries.
