Jaipur’s traffic police constable Prem Singh is being hailed as a hero by many on social media after a video of him saving a bird went viral. Posted on Facebook, the video captures how Singh’s presence of mind saved the bird stuck in kite threads.

“Jaipur Traffic Constable Shri Prem Singh showed empathy, sense of urgency and saved the bird struggling in threads of kite fliers,” read the caption of the video shared on Facebook by IPS officer Ajay Pal Lamba. The video opens to show Prem Singh walking in the middle of a busy road after noticing a bird struggling to fly. He quickly stops a passing bus and instructs the driver to get close to the bird. As the video progresses, Singh climbs to the bus’s roof and breaks the thread. He then hands over the poor bird to an onlooker, and both gently detangle the thread until the end of the clip.
