Ahmedabad: The state education department has decided to streamline the process for private schools seeking to withdrawdeposits collected during the application for school approval. District education officers (DEOs) are now authorized to approve deposit withdrawals, eliminating the need for schools to approach the commissioner of schools in Gandhinagar.
This move will expedite the withdrawal process, ensuring school managements receive their deposit amounts promptly.
Going to the commissioner of schools to get permission to withdraw deposits used to be a cumbersome process, and schools didn’t get their permission on time.
With the new directive, school managements need only approach their respective DEOs after the completion of the lock-in period. The DEO will then assess the school’s progress and approve the withdrawal of the deposit, simplifying the process.

Jana Sena no show in T, candidates lose their deposits
Actor Pawan Kalyan-led Jana Sena Party, in alliance with BJP, faced defeat in all eight seats it contested in the Telangana polls. Despite Pawan Kalyan’s extensive tour, the party did not fare well due to last-minute entry, lack of support from Munnuru Kapus, lack of noteworthy candidates, and perception of being an ‘Andhra-centric’ party. Analysts believe that Andhra-led parties struggle in Telangana, and the alliance with Jana Sena was a mistake for BJP. However, this defeat may not impact Jana Sena’s chances in the 2024 polls in Andhra Pradesh.
