Prabhas to do 'Ravan Dahan' at Lav Kush Ramlila | Telugu Movie News

Telugu star Prabhas, who is currently in the news with his portrayal of Raghava or Lord Ram in “Adipirush”, will be seen burning a lifesize effigy of Ravana in the Ramlila at the Lal Qila Ground in the national capital.

He will be accompanied by President, Droupadi Murmu and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Lav Kush Ramlila Committee Secretary Arjun Kumar, in a statement, said: “Prabhas played Lord Rama in ‘Adipurush’ and thus we thought to invite him as a chief guest along with the President of India and the Delhi Chief Minister. All three will shoot the arrows to kill Ravana in Ramlila.”

The Ramlila is happening after a couple of years in Delhi, and hence, the committee wanted to do it on a grand scale.

“For two years we couldn’t organise Ramlila because of Covid but this year we thought to do it on a large scale so that more people can come and watch it. Thus, we involved about 22 celebs and they all became part of our Ramlila. And this is also one of the main reasons to invite Prabhas as a guest,” Kumar said.

Detailing the actors and their roles, Kumar said: “Raghav Tiwari is playing Lord Ram and ‘Sankat Mochan Hanuman’ actor Arjun Mandola is seen as Lakshman and ‘Sankatmochan Mahabali Hanuman’ actress Deblina Chatterjee is portraying the role of Sita.”

“‘Mahabharat’ actor Nirbhay Wadhwa is seen playing Hanuman and Akhilendra Mishra, who played Ravana in the TV show ‘Ramayana’ is playing the same role in our Ramlila too. Politician and actor Manoj Tiwari is seen as Kevat. So, we tried to involve those actors, who have been part of mythological shows and played the same characters. We tried to make it as entertaining as possible for the Delhi audience,” he said.

On Imran Khan leaked audio controversy, Pak PM says, ‘Thief creating chaos’ | World News

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has accused his predecessor Imran Khan of “creating unrest in the nation, and chaos in the state institutions” after he was toppled from power earlier this year. On Khan’s “US conspiracy” charge, which he been vehemently repeating, Sharif said that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief has put national security at stake by “altering a diplomatic cipher.”

“A thief who has been caught red-handed is maligning state institutions just to escape punishment. After creating unrest in the nation, the conspirator (Imran Khan) is trying to create chaos in the state institutions,” he was quoted as saying in a report published by local daily The Dawn’s news website.

Imran Khan has repeatedly alleged that the trust vote which ousted him as the prime minister was a “foreign conspiracy” against him by the US. He also claimed to have a diplomatic cable to prove it, despite public denials by the US.

The issue blew up last week when unverified audio clips of private conversations between Khan (when he was still the PM and facing trust vote) and his close aides surfaced on the internet. The audio clips allegedly capture Khan discussing how to fabricate a conspiracy about a foreign threat, with him heard saying they would “play with the cable”. HT could not independently verify the authenticity of the audio clip.

The Pakistan government has now ordered a probe into the leaked audio clips. “Being a popular leader does not mean being exempt from the law; the law is equal for all,” Pak PM Shehbaz Sharif added as Imran Khan, now the leader of the opposition, will frame criminal charges for purportedly using the cipher for his political advantage, the Dawn reported.

The former cricketer has been facing legal challenges since his removal from power including a police complaint for threatening a female judge and senior police officials, as per Bloomberg report. Separately, a court has told him to apologise for threatening the judge. Khan has launched a campaign demanding early elections.

Chinese Nationals Allegedly Behind Job Scam In Bengaluru, 5 Crores Seized

Bengaluru:

In a massive crackdown on part-time job firms run by Chinese citizens, the Enforcement Directorate on Monday seized over Rs 5 crore during raids at 12 job-providing entities in Bengaluru in an alleged money laundering case.

Six citizens of China and Taiwan controlled the job entities, said the federal probe agency, which named 92 people as accused in the alleged job scam.

During the raids on the 12 companies yesterday, Rs 5.85 crore was seized under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

The Chinese citizens cheated people seeking jobs through an app and transferred the money collected through it to China-based crypto exchanges, the ED said in a release.

The scam worth crores came to light after the ED launched a money laundering investigation on the basis of a case registered related to part-time job fraud.

In these Chinese-run firms, locals were hired as human resource (HR) managers, directors, and telecallers, the ED revealed. They launched an app, ‘Keepsharer’, which was linked to another investment app. It was available on PlayStore.

Job-seekers had to deposit an amount for registration. They were also asked to deposit more money for alleged investments.

The victims, who were tasked with liking videos of celebrities and uploading them on social media, were paid Rs 20 per video and the amount was credited to their app wallet. This continued until the app was removed from PlayStore, said the ED.

The accused converted the money they had collected into cryptocurrency and transferred them to crypto exchanges based in China, it said.

“All transactions were under the control of Chinese persons through phone and WhatsApp groups. Of the 92 accused, six are citizens of China and Taiwan, who were controlling the entire scam,” the ED said.

As text messages between Elon Musk and his contacts were made public last week during Tesla chief’s ongoing legal fight with Twitter, his conversations with Jack Dorsey and his ex-wife Talulah Riley among others drew much attention.

“Can you buy Twitter and then delete it, please!? xx,” Talulah Riley had texted to Musk on March 23, Bloomberg reported. Talulah Riley is an English actress and writer who is Musk’s ex-wife.

“Please do something to fight woke-ism,” Talulah Riley wrote adding, “I will do anything to help! xx.”

On a Twitter account being suspended, Talulah Riley said to Musk, “It was a f–king joke. Why has everyone become so puritanical?”

Elon Musk’s text to someone named JackJack, who is said to be Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey revealed Tesla chief’s fight with Twitter’s current head Parag Agrawal.

“You and I are in complete agreement. Parag is just moving far too slowly and trying to please people who will not be happy no matter what he does,” Musk said to Jack Dorsey to which the latter replied, “At least it became clear that you can’t work together. That was clarifying.”

In messages that were revealed, Elon Musk told Parag Agarwal that he did not think he should be the “boss of anyone”.

India records 1,968 new Covid-19 infections, lowest in 133 days; active cases drop to 34,598 | India News

New Delhi: India recorded 1,968 new Covid-19 infections on Tuesday (October 4, 2022), which is the lowest in 133 days, the Union Health Ministry said. The country had registered a total of 1,675 coronavirus cases on May 23.

With this, the number of active cases across the country has dropped to 34,598. A decline of 1,528 cases was recorded in the active Covid-19 case count in a span of the last 24 hours, the ministry said.

The death toll climbed to 5,28,716 with 15 fatalities, which included eight deaths reconciled by Kerala, while the number of total recoveries increased to 4,40,36,152 with 3,481 patients recuperating in the last 24 hours.

The active cases now comprise 0.08 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate increased to 98.74 per cent, the data updated by the ministry at 8 am showed.

The daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.94 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate was recorded at 1.29 per cent, the ministry said.

Meanwhile, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 218.80 cr, as per provisional reports till 7 am on Tuesday.

Jammu:

A top prisons official in Jammu and Kashmir, Hemant Lohia, was found dead at his friend’s home last night with the police saying his domestic help is the prime suspect in the case.

57-year-old Lohia, a 1992 batch IPS officer, was found dead with burn injuries on his body and his throat slit at his friend’s home on the outskirts of Jammu.

Hemant Kumar Lohia was staying at his friend’s house as his own home was under renovation. 

Police said no terror angle has come to the fore as of now. 

Initial investigation suggests his domestic help Yasir Ahmed, who is on the run, had been suffering from severe depression, police told NDTV.

The killer used a broken ketchup bottle to slit Mr Lohia’s throat and later tried to set his body on fire, they said.

“The security guards broke into his room after they saw flames. The room was locked from inside,” said Director General of Police, Jammu zone, Mukesh Singh as saying.

“Yasir was working for Mr Lohia for six months. Initial investigation reveals that he was quite aggressive”, said Mr Singh.

He said the suspect is seen rushing out of the house after the crime in a CCTV footage.

A man-hunt has been launched to trace the domestic help, Mr Singh said, adding that the body has been sent for post-mortem examination.

Police have also released Yasir’s photograph urging the public to inform the officials if they have any information about the suspect.

A forensic team and senior police officials have inspected the spot and seized the weapon that was used in the crime.

“Police have also seized some documentary evidence, including his diary, that reflects his mental state,” Mr Singh said.

Hemant Lohia was appointed as the Director General of Prisons (J&K) in August.

The incident comes at a time when Home Minister Amit Shah is in the Union Territory on a three-day visit.

'Saif is looking more like Khilji, but not Raavan' | Telugu Movie News

The 1.46-minute teaser of the much-awaited film “Adipurush” was released at a mega event in Ayodhya on Sunday night. However, it has left netizens upset and disappointed, with many calling out the makers for its VFX and also some of them comparing it to “Pogo”.

But one keyword that is trending more on social media is ‘Raavan’.”Adipurush”, starring Prabhas, Kriti Shanon and Saif Ali Khan, is a retelling of the Ramayana. Prabhas’ character is termed as Raghav, which is another name for Lord Ram. Saif Ali Khan plays Raavan while Janaki is played by Kriti Sanon.

Other than poor VFX, Saif Ali Khan’s look as Raavan with a beard made social media users question if he is playing Raavan or “Babar” or “Alauddin Khilji” in the film.

Joking about the same, one of the social media users wrote, “He (Saif) is looking more like Babar or Aurangzeb or Taimur but certainly not Raavan.”

Another netizen commented, “How is this look of Raavan? Raavan was a Hindu Brahmin from Northern Region.”

Another wrote: “#SaifAliKhan looks like an Islamic invader than Raavan in #Adipurush?”

“I mean seriously!!! Are they going to change the name of Ravan to Rizwan?? Who is styling his beard?? Javid Habib?? They have made him look like Alauddin Khilji,” added one user.

The makers of “Adipurush”, which has been directed by Om Raut, have spent a fortune on the visual effects. The film has reportedly been made on a budget of over Rs 400 crore, most of which has been spent on the VFX but, it seems like the output is far from what the audience was expecting.

Questions about Russian President Vladimir Putin’s health again began after a new report claimed that the premier is unwell. Putin’s health is impacting major decisions he makes, a report in Sky News said.

Quoting, “General SVR” telegram channel, the report said that Vladimir Putin has been complaining about “aching pains” before important war room meetings. Kremlin has not responded to the reports.

“(Putin) complained of aching pain in the abdominal cavity, which could not be quickly stopped, and he held the meeting leaning forward, trying to maintain a natural posture,” the report said.

The report also said that when the 69-year-old held meetings with Belarus leader Alexander Lukashenko, he was in pain.

“Putin’s oncology is progressing and, despite adequate treatment lately, the pain is not always completely relieved. It must be understood that the deplorable state of the president’s physical and mental health affects the adoption of key decisions,” the report said.

In a 37-minute speech on Friday, Vladimir Putin denounced the West and said that it had no right to speak of democracy.

“The dictatorship of the Western elites is directed against all societies, including the peoples of the Western countries themselves. This is a complete denial of humanity, the overthrow of faith and traditional values,” Putin had said.

The woman, who is a teacher in a private educational institute, reached Lucknow from Basti and informed the police on September 27

A doctor was arrested for allegedly raping a woman, police said on Tuesday. The woman filed a complaint with the police stating that the doctor, posted at a hospital in the Basti Sadar Kotwali area, befriended her on social media and asked her to visit him, they said. When she visited the hospital, the doctor took her to his hostel room where he and his two colleagues, who are also doctors, raped her, police said quoting the complainant.

The woman, who is a teacher in a private educational institute, reached Lucknow from Basti and informed the police on September 27, they said. A case was registered and investigation taken up, police said, adding the doctor was arrested from the hospital.

કેન્દ્રીય ગૃહમંત્રી અમિત શાહ (Amit Shah) સોમવારે ત્રણ દિવસની મુલાકાતે જમ્મુ-કાશ્મીર (jammu Kashmir)પહોંચ્યા હતા. ખીણમાં પ્રવેશતાની સાથે જ જમ્મુના ડીજીપી જેલ હેમંત કુમાર લોહિયા9DGP jail Hemantkumar Lohia)ની હત્યાથી ભયનું વાતાવરણ ફેલાઈ ગયું છે. શાહની મુલાકાતથી આતંકવાદીઓ સ્તબ્ધ છે. આથી તેઓ સતત આતંકવાદી ગતિવિધિઓ (Terrorist Acitivities) કરીને ઘાટીમાં અસુરક્ષાનું વાતાવરણ ઊભું કરવાનો પ્રયાસ કરી રહ્યા છે. કેન્દ્રશાસિત પ્રદેશની તેમની મુલાકાત દરમિયાન, શાહ રાજૌરી અને બારામુલ્લા જિલ્લામાં રેલીઓને સંબોધિત કરશે અને ખીણમાં સુરક્ષાની સ્થિતિની સમીક્ષા કરશે.

જમ્મુ-કાશ્મીરમાં ટૂંક સમયમાં ચૂંટણી યોજાવા જઈ રહી છે, આવી સ્થિતિમાં તેઓ ભાજપની તરફેણમાં વાતાવરણ બનાવવા માટે લોકલાગણીની જાહેરાતો પણ કરશે. શાહની મુલાકાતને ધ્યાનમાં રાખીને સુરક્ષા વ્યવસ્થા સઘન કરવામાં આવી છે. છેલ્લા અઠવાડિયા દરમિયાન જમ્મુ-કાશ્મીરમાં બે મોટા આતંકી હુમલા થયા છે. આવી સુરક્ષામાં કોઈ ક્ષતિને અવકાશ નથી. જો કે ડીજીપી જેલ હેમંતકુમાર લોહિયાની હત્યાથી સનસનાટી ફેલાઈ ગઈ છે. આતંકવાદી સંગઠન TRFએ DGPની હત્યાની જવાબદારી લીધી છે.

TRFએ એક પ્રેસ રિલીઝ જાહેર કરી છે, જેમાં જણાવવામાં આવ્યું છે કે DGPની હત્યા એ ગૃહમંત્રીને તેમની મુલાકાત પહેલાની ભેટ છે. સંસ્થાએ લખ્યું, ‘અમારી વિશેષ ટુકડીએ જમ્મુના ઉદયવાલામાં ગુપ્ત માહિતી આધારિત ઓપરેશન હાથ ધર્યું છે. આ અંતર્ગત ડીજીપી માર્યા ગયા છે, જેઓ નિશાના પર હતા. આ ઘટના ભારતમાં હિંદુત્વ શાસન અને તેના સાથીઓ માટે ચેતવણી છે કે ડીજીપીની હત્યા એ હાઈ-પ્રોફાઈલ કામગીરીની માત્ર શરૂઆત છે. અમે ગમે ત્યારે અને ગમે ત્યાં ચોકસાઇ સાથે હુમલો કરીએ છીએ. આવી સ્થિતિમાં, કડક સુરક્ષા વચ્ચે પ્રવાસ પર આવેલા ગૃહમંત્રી (અમિત શાહ) માટે આ એક નાનકડી ભેટ છે. જો ઈશ્વરની ઈચ્છા હશે તો અમે ભવિષ્યમાં પણ આવા ઓપરેશનો ચાલુ રાખીશું.

ડીજીપી લોહિયાની હત્યાથી જમ્મુ-કાશ્મીરમાં ખળભળાટ મચી ગયો છે. સોમવારે તેનો મૃતદેહ તેના ઘરેથી શંકાસ્પદ સંજોગોમાં મળી આવ્યો હતો. ડીજીપીના લોહીલુહાણ શરીરમાંથી પેટના આંતરડા બહાર નીકળેલા મળી આવ્યા હતા. હત્યારાએ કેરોસીન છાંટીને શરીર સળગાવવાનો પણ પ્રયાસ કર્યો હતો. આટલું જ નહીં ડીજીપીના માથા પર ઓશીકું અને કપડા મૂકીને ઉપરથી આગ પણ લગાવવામાં આવી હતી. પોલીસને આશંકા છે કે આ ઘટના તેમના ઘરમાં રહેતા નોકર દ્વારા કરવામાં આવી છે, જે ફરાર છે. જણાવવામાં આવી રહ્યું છે કે હેમંત કુમાર લોહિયા નવરાત્રીના સંબંધમાં શ્રીનગરથી જમ્મુ આવ્યા હતા.
