- Water Level Of Indira Sagar Rises, Water Will Be Released From Omkareshwar Dam, House Empty On The Banks Of Sukta In Jaswadi

Abna river adjoining Khandwa city is in spate.
Due to continuous rain in Khandwa on Monday, Sukta, Abna river remained in spate. More than 3 inches of rain was recorded in 24 hours. For this reason, primary, middle schools will remain closed on Tuesday. On the other hand, the water level of Indira Sagar increased due to the opening of the Tawa Dam gate. The Indira Sagar gate is likely to open, before which water will be released from Omkareshwar Dam in a day or two.
The Flood Control Cell of Omkareshwar Power Station cautioned the Collector-SP and concerned SDM of Khandwa, Khargone, Dhar, Barwani and Dewas to make necessary security arrangements in the Omkareshwar dam and Narmada coastal areas. It was told that it is raining continuously in the upper parts of Indira Sagar and in the catchment area.
The scheduled stock of Indira Sagar reservoir for the month of July is 258 meters, while it has been filled 255 meters. The gates of Tawa Dam are open in the upper part. Due to which water will be released from Indira Sagar in the next 24 to 36 hours, then the arrival will increase in Omkareshwar Dam. Due to this excess water will be drained from Omkareshwar Dam.
Alert to vacate the houses situated on the banks of Sukta
Here, the river drain is in spate due to release of water from Sukta Dam due to incessant rains. On Monday evening, the local administration got the houses situated on the banks of Sukta in Jaswadi and nearby villages vacated. People were sent to a safer place. The Abna river adjoining Khandwa city was also seen in spate.
