Customs officials seized 4,970 grams of heroin worth Rs 34.79 crore from a passenger who had hidden the contraband in a specially created cavity in a trolley bag, an official said on Monday. In another action, 9,115 grams of gold valued at Rs 4.53 crore was seized last week, the Mumbai Airport Customs said.
The heroin was seized after Customs officials, acting on specific information, stopped a passenger at the airport on Saturday. During the search of his luggage, the officials found the contraband kept in the specially made cavity inside the trolley bag, Mumbai Airport Customs tweeted.
The passenger has been arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. He was produced before a court which remanded him in judicial custody, it added.
In another action, the Mumbai Airport Customs seized 9,115 grams of gold valued at Rs 4.53 crores on Friday and Saturday and arrested three persons in six cases, as per the tweet.
The seized gold was found concealed in a specially designed jacket, flight, mixer transformer windings, trolley wheels, shoes and body, it added.

Ahmedabad: શહેરના શહેર કોટડા, મેઘાણીનગર અને નરોડામાં હત્યાનો ગુનો નોંધાતા પોલીસ દોડતી થઈ છે. શહેરના નરોડા વિસ્તારમાં મહિલાને ગળે ટૂંપો આપીને હત્યા કરવામાં આવતા પોલીસે ગુનો નોંધીને હત્યારાને ઝડપી પાડવા માટે કવાયત તેજ કરી છે.
અમદાવાદના નરોડા પોલીસ સ્ટેશન વિસ્તારમાં આવતા જીઆઇડીસી પાસે મહિલાની હત્યાનો બનાવ સામે આવ્યો છે. સાંજના સમયે મહિલાને દુપટ્ટાથી ગળેફાંસો આપીને અજાણ્યો વ્યક્તિ હત્યા નીપજાવી ફરાર થઈ ગયો હતો, નરોડા જીઆઇડીસીમાં અર્ચિત ઓર્ગેનિક્સ લિમિટેડ નામની કંપનીના પ્લોટમાં મધુબેન ડામોર નામના 32 વર્ષીય મહિલાની હત્યાને અંજામ આપવામાં આવ્યો હતો. આ મામલે રામાભાઇ ડામોર નામના યુવકે ફરિયાદ નોંધાવી છે.
ફરિયાદી રામાભાઈ ડામોર પોતાની બહેન અને બનેવી સાથે નરોડા જીઆઇડીસીની કંપનીના પ્લોટમાં ઓરડીમાં રહે છે અને પોતે નોકરી કરે છે તેમજ બહેન અને બનેવી પણ નોકરી કરે છે. 30 સપ્ટેમ્બરના રોજ સાંજના સમયે મધુબેન ડામોર નોકરીએથી ઘરે આવ્યા હતા અને તે સમયે પતિ અને ભાઈ કામથી બહાર ગયા હતા. થોડા સમય બાદ રામાભાઈ ઓરડીએ પરત ફરતા બહેન ઘરમાં ન મળી આવતા આસપાસમાં શોધખોળ કરી હતી અને પ્લોટમાં જ ઘરથી થોડે દૂર મધુબેન ડામોરનો મૃતદેહ મળી આવ્યો હતો. જેમાં તેઓના ગળામાં દુપટ્ટો ફસાવીને હત્યા કરવામાં આવી હોવાનું ખુલ્યું હતુ. આ મામલે ફરિયાદીએ મધુબેનના પતિને ફોન કરીને બોલાવતા 108 મારફતે સિવિલમાં ખસેડવામાં આવ્યા હતા જ્યાં તબીબોએ તેઓને મૃત જાહેર કરતા આ ઘટના સંદર્ભે નરોડા પોલીસ મથકમાં ફરિયાદ નોંધાય છે.
નરોડા પોલીસે આ ઘટનાને લઈને આરોપીઓને પકડવા માટેની કવાયત શરૂ કરી છે. પ્રાથમિક તપાસમાં મહિલાને થોડા દિવસ પહેલા એક યુવક સાથે ઝઘડો થતા તેને જાનથી મારી નાખવાની ધમકી આપી હતી. જેથી પોલીસે તે શખ્સ સહિતના શકમંદો અંગે વિગતો મેળવી હત્યારા આરોપીને પકડવા ટીમો કામે લગાડી છે. મહત્વનું છે કે શહેરકોટડા, અને મેઘાણીનગરમાં થયેલી હત્યા કેસમાં આરોપીઓ પોલીસ ગિરફતમાં આવી ગયા છે ત્યારે આ હત્યાનો ભેદ ક્યારે ઉકેલાય છે તે જોવુ રહ્યું.

After Ramappa temple made it to the list of World Heritage Sites of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Culture Organisation (UNESCO), adding another feather to the proud crown of Telangana, Gollabhama Sarees from Siddipet in the state has got a place in the UNESCO’s list of iconic textile crafts of the Indian Nation.
Termed to be a proud moment to the weavers from Siddipet and Dubbaka who have been weaving the Gollabhama sarees way back from the 1960s, the sarees took place in the report of the UNESCO titled ‘’Handmade for the 21st Century: Safeguarding Traditional Indian Textile” that listed the antiquities and folklores of the unique textile crafts in the country.
Including the popular Gollabhama sarees, as many as three items from the Telugu states got placed on the list of a report issued by UNESCO. Since the entry of the Jacquard weaving machine six years back the weavers have been putting more effort into making the Gollabhama sarees both in quality and quantity by maintaining the age-old-traditional handiwork without losing its shine and glory.
As many as 500 weavers have been getting livelihood by weaving the sarees and dupattas who are members of a total of 18 handloom cooperative societies in Rajanna Sircilla district.
Meanwhile, Telangana Finance Minister termed the recognition achieved by the Gollabhama sarees by UNESCO an honor to the weavers of the Siddipet who have been making the sarees for more than six decades. In a post on social media, the minister said that the State government has been encouraging the weavers and promoting the sarees by arranging an exclusive stall in the Golconda Handicrafts Showroom that has been run by the Textiles department.

ETimes had broken the news about the upcoming biopic that is in the works with producer Tutu Sharma backing the venture. However, according to the latest reports, Bhushan is set to take the legal route to make sure that the producer does not take the project forward.
Bhushan, who is also backing a biopic on her sister, is making sure that only her producers have the creative liberty while bringing the story forward. In an interview with Pinkvilla, she warned, “Let me make one thing clear, there’s going to be only one Madhubala biopic that will be backed by me and my team.”
She went on to add that the film will showcase several unknown facets of Madhubala’s life which aren’t out in public. She also said that only the biopic that she produces will have the ‘creative freedom to bring to life the actress’ life in a ‘truthful and honest manner’.
When asked the reason behind the same, she said it was to safeguard her family’s interests.
ETimes reported that Writer Sushila Kumari filed a Rs 1 crore lawsuit against Bhushan for running down her book ‘Madhubala: Dard Ka Safar’. Tutu Sharma’s upcoming film is based on this book for which he bought the rights.

OnePlus has launched its affordable Nord Watch in India this week. The new smartwatch from the brand will be available from Tuesday and carries an AMOLED display, supports Bluetooth for pairing and has plenty of sports modes to keep the users engaged. You can use it with both Android and iOS devices.
OnePlus Nord Watch has launched in India for Rs 4,999 but with special bank offers you can avail discount of Rs 500. The smartwatch can be bought from the OnePlus India website and the watch will go on sale from October 4 onwards.
The company has been teasing the features and design of the smartwatch for the past few days and now it is finally here. The OnePlus Nord Watch gets a 1.78-inch AMOLED panel that gets a 60Hz refresh rate screen which offers 500 nits of peak brightness. You have 100 watch faces to refresh the look and feel of the watch.
The wearable connects to an Android phone or an iPhone via Bluetooth 5.2 and you can sync all the data on the device with the N Health app. Nord Watch has features like the heart-rate sensor, SpO2 monitor, menstrual tracker, stress sensor and more. The watch case is made of zinc alloy along with the silicon strap. It weighs around 52 grams with the strap and you get a magnetic charger in the box.

Alternatively, the GranTurismo Folgore adopts a 100% electric battery-based powertrain. The battery has a nominal capacity of 92.5 kWh and a discharge capacity of 560 kW, to continuously transmit around 760 hp to the wheels.
