Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel: Cm Meets Leaders Of Japanese Companies | Ahmedabad News


Gandhinagar: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patelwho is leading a high-level delegation to Japan and Singapore, met leaders of top Japanese companies on Tuesday. The CM told top representatives of Japanese companies that Gujarat aims to become a hub for semiconductors and renewable energy, and invited them to explore investment opportunities in these sectors.
An official statement said that the CM extended invitations to companies which are working in the fields of green hydrogen, renewable energy, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals and drugs, industrial automation and other sectors, to attend the forthcoming edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) which will be held from January 10 to 12 in Gandhinagar.
The CM held one-to-one meetings with Masashi Nagasawa, president, TEPCO Renewable Power, along with TEPCO MDs Hiroyuki Nishiyama and Masaki Honda. The CM also held one-to-one meetings with officials of Otsuka International, Marubeni Corporation, Mitsui OSK Lines, DISCO Corporation, Air Water Inc, Fanuc Global, and other companies, an official statement said.
These companies are engaged in renewable energy, semiconductors, industrial automation, pharmaceuticals, trading and investment, shipping, industrial gas supply, and other sectors, the statement said.
Chief secretary Raj Kumar and other top officials of the administration also participated in the one-to-one meetings, the statement added.

Murugappa Group’s CG Power plans to set up a semiconductor assembly and test facility (OSAT) in India with an investment of $791 million. The company has filed an application seeking approvals from the ministry of electronics and information technology (MeiTY) and subsidies for the project. The investment will be funded through a combination of subsidy, JV Partners equity contribution, and debt. The project involves setting up semiconductor assembly, testing, marking, and packaging units as a joint venture. Tube Investments, which acquired CG Power in 2020, holds a controlling stake of 58%.
