Citing overcrowded prisons, Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s government issued a decree in April allowing the release of foreign nationals convicted of people smuggling, on condition that they leave Hungary within 72 hours once freed.
The move drew a protest from neighbouring Austria, a top destination for smuggled migrants heading for the heart of the European Union via Hungary from the Balkans. Vienna said it regards the release of human traffickers as a security threat.
The Hungarian prison directorate (BvOP) said there were 2,636 people convicted of human trafficking in Hungarian prisons, of whom 808 were foreign citizens eligible for the release.
“Incarcerating foreign nationals costs Hungarian prisons billions of forints each year,” the BvOP press office said in its emailed reply.
It said that if those released do not leave Hungary’s territory within 72 hours and are caught by police, they would have to remain in prison for the full term of their sentence.
For many migrants the Hungarian route remains an appealing one despite stepped-up border police patrols and a steel fence built by Hungary after the EU’s 2015 migration crisis on its southern border with Serbia.
Once in Hungary, migrants can move across generally open borders within Europe’s Schengen zone to wealthier western EU countries like Austria or Germany.

3 દિવસે ખેસ તૈયાર થયો નરેન્દ્રભાઇ વિશ્વભરના નોટો અને સિક્કા એકઠા કરવાનું જુનુન છે અને અત્યાર સુધીમાં તેઓએ તેમના આ શોખ અને જૂનુન થી એક લાખ પચાસ હજાર જેટલા કોઇન ભેગા કર્યા છે. જુના બ્રિટીશ સમયના આ સિક્કાઓ ભેગા કરીને તેઓ રાજકોટમાં આવનાર હસ્તીઓનું સ્વાગત કરે છે. એટલું જ નહીં તેઓ સેલિબ્રિટીઓને વધાવવા બે-ત્રણ દિવસનો સમય કાઢીને ખેસ તૈયાર કરે છે અને એ ખેસમાં મખમલનું કાપડ, તૂઇ વિવિધ પ્રકારના પેચ તથા સેલિબ્રિટીનો ફોટો લગાવીને આ સિક્કાઓથી તેને સજાવે છે.
અનેક સેલેબ્સને ખેસ પહેરાવ્યા છે રાજકોટના રેસકોર્સ મેદાનમાં યોજાનાર બાગેશ્વરધામના ધીરેન્દ્ર કૃષ્ણ શાસ્ત્રીના દિવ્ય દરબારમાં તેમનું સ્વાગત કરવા માટે પણ નરેન્દ્રભાઇએ ખાસ ભગવા કલરનો ખેસ તૈયારી કરીને રાખ્યો છે. નરેન્દ્રભાઈએ જણાવ્યું હતું કે, મારા આ શોખને સમર્પિત છું અને આના માટે મેં હજુ સુધી મારું પોતાનું ઘરનું ઘર પણ ખરીદ કર્યું નથી. નરેન્દ્રભાઇ સોરઠીયાએ અત્યાર સુધીમા મુખ્યમંત્રી ભૂપેન્દ્ર પટેલ, VYOના વ્રજરાજ મહારાજ, જાણીતા કલાકાર માયાભાઇ આહીર, કીર્તિદાન ગઢવી, શહાબુદીનભાઈ રાઠોડ જેવા અનેક નામી અનામી લોકોનું ખેસ પહેરાવી સ્વાગત કર્યુ છે. તેઓ પોતાની આ કલા અને શોખ વિવિધ શાળા-કોલેજોમાં પ્રદર્શન કરીને બાળકોને માર્ગદર્શન આપે છે.

દાહોદ જિલ્લાના ગરબાડા તાલુકાના છરછોડા ગામે રાત્રીના સમયે આદમ ખોર દિપડાએ એક 70 વર્ષીય વૃધ્ધા પર અચાનક હુમલો કર્યો હતો. ગળાના ભાગે બચકા ભરી ગંભીર કરતાં વૃધ્ધાનુ સ્થળ પરજ મોત નીપજ્યું હતું. ઘટનાને ગામમાં દિપડાને આતંકને પગલે ફફડાટ ફેલાઈ જવા પામ્યો છે. ઘટનાની જાણ સ્થાનીક વન વિભાગના અધિકારીઓને થતાં વન વિભાગની ટીમ દ્વારા આદમ ખોર દિપડાને પાંજરે પુરવાની કવાયતો હાથ ધરી છે.
પખવાડિયામાં દિપડાના હુમલાનો ત્રીજો બનાવ બનતા ફફડાટ દાહોદ જિલ્લાના ગ્રામીણ વિસ્તારોમાં આદમખોર દિપડાઓનો આતંક દિન પ્રતિદિન વધી રહ્યો છે. જંગલ વિસ્તાર તરફના ગામોમાં દિપડાઓના પ્રયાણને પગલે માનવ જાત પર દિપડાના હુમલાઓ વધવા માંડ્યાં છે. ઉનાળાની ઋતુમાં જંગલ વિસ્તારોમાં પાણી, ખોરાકની અછતના કારણે દિપડાઓ ગામના રહેણાંક વિસ્તાર તરફ આવતાં હોવાનું તજજ્ઞોનું માનવું છે. ત્યારે પંદર દિવસની અંદર દાહોદ જિલ્લામાં દિપડાના હુમલાના ત્રણ બનાવોમાં બે વ્યક્તિઓના મોત નીપજ્યાં છે.
હાલમા જ બે સ્થળોએ દિપડાએ હુમલા કર્યા હતા અગાઉ લીમખેડા તાલુકાના ફુલપરી ગામે ઘરની ઓસરીમાં ઉંઘી રહેલ બે બાળાઓને દિપડાએ ઘરની બહાર ખેંચી જઈ બંન્ને બાળાઓને શરીરે બચકા ભર્યા હતાં ત્યારે બુમાબુમ થઈ જતાં પરિવારજનો અને ગ્રામજનો દોડી આવતાં બંન્ને બાળાઓનો જીવ બચી ગયો હતો. તેના બે દિવસ બાદ લીમખેડાના પાડા ગામે એક મહિલા સહિત બે વ્યક્તિઓ ઉપર દિપડાએ હુમલો કરતાં બંન્ને વ્યક્તિઓ ગંભીર રીતે ઘવાયા હતાં. જેમાં 45 વર્ષીય વ્યક્તિને વધુ સારવાર માટે વડોદરાની હોસ્પિટલ ખાતે લઈ જવાતાં ત્યાં તેઓનું રસ્તામાં મોત નીપજ્યું હતું .
MS Dhoni will be seeking expert opinion from sports orthopaedics in Mumbai on the state of his dodgy left knee before taking a call on his treatment, Chennai Super Kings’ CEO Kasi Viswanathan said on Wednesday.
Dhoni had played the entire IPL season with a heavily strapped left knee and although he looked absolutely okay while keeping, more often than not he batted as late as No. 8 and didn’t look swift while running between the wickets. After leading the side to their fifth IPL title, though, Dhoni had said he would return for “at least” one more season for the fans, if his body allowed it.
“Yes, it is true that Dhoni will be taking medical advice for his left knee injury and accordingly decide,” Viswanathan told PTI. “If surgery is advised, it can only be ascertained after reports come out, it will be completely his call.”
Is there a possibility that Dhoni will decide against playing next season and thus free up a purse of INR 15 crore for the mini-auction? “Frankly, we are not even thinking along those lines as we haven’t reached that stage,” Viswanathan said. “It will be completely Dhoni’s call. But I can tell you, in CSK, we haven’t entertained those thoughts.”
Asked if the franchise owner N Srinivasan addressed the players after the fifth IPL trophy and if celebrations were in the offing.
“He is very happy but there were no celebrations,” Viswanathan replied. “The players dispersed for their respective destinations from Ahmedabad only. Also if you have seen CSK, we are never big on celebrations.”
Talking about the team’s fifth title, which came despite a spate of injuries to its top players, Viswanathan said: “It’s all about team spirit and every player knowing his role which is very well defined in our set-up.
“Even a player of Ben Stokes‘ stature, his nature was brilliant around the group and the youngsters looked up to him. This has been possible because of our captain.”

ગામના આગેવાન એ જણાવેલ કે અમોએ પંડિત દિન દયાલ મકાન સહાય માટે અમે ફોર્મ ભર્યું હતું જેમાં તલાટી ક્રમ મંત્રીના સહી સિક્કાની જરૂર હોવાથી અમે સહી માટે ગયા હતા અમને સિક્કો મારી આપેલ નહિ અને તું તારી કરી અમને મારવા સુધી ધમકી આપી હતી અને ફરિયાદ કરવા ની પણ ધમકી આપી હતી.
તો તલાટી મંત્રીએ કહ્યું હતું કે, હરીપુરા પંચાયતનું આવતીકાલે ઓપનીંગ હોય હું તેના કામ માટે આજે ત્યાં હાજર હતો. અરજદારે ત્યાં આવીને કામ કરી આપવા પ્રેશર કર્યું હતું. મેં કહ્યું હતું કે, હું ત્યાં આવીને કામ કરી આપીશ પણ ગામલોકો ત્યાં જ કામ કરવા માટે પ્રેશર કરતા હતા.

“So I (30f) got married, yay! Honestly, it was my dream wedding, everything went off without a hitch. Except for one small thing; my niece’s (16) dress. It was a white, lacy knee length dress. She even wore lace elbow length gloves! Honestly, it looked just like a wedding dress. I didn’t say anything to her or her parents (my brother and SIL) at the moment, and I tried my best to ignore it. But when I got the first drafts back from our photographer, I couldn’t stand when I saw her in her white dress standing next to me,” she wrote.
In the next few lines she explained that since she was upset after seeing the picture, her husband suggested she get the colour of her niece’s dress changed to light blue and she did just that. The woman explained that after seeing the final result, her sister-in-law was furious and blamed her for “body shaming” her niece.

આણંદ જિલ્લાના સોજીત્રા તાલુકાના મલાતજ મેલડી માતાના મંદિરે દર્શન કરીને વડોદરા પરત આવી રહેલા બે યુવાનના લક્ઝરી બસની અડફેટે કમકમાટીભર્યા મોત નીપજ્યા છે. બંને યુવાન વડોદરાની એમ.એસ.યુનિવર્સિટીમાં બીકોમના સેકન્ડ યરમાં અભ્યાસ કરતા હતા. અકસ્માત પહેલા જ ક્રિશ ચૌહાણે મિત્ર વિષ્ણુ ઠાકોર માટે ‘લવ યુ યારા સ્ટેટ્સ મુક્યું હતું અને સ્ટેટ્સ મુક્યા બાદ બંનેને અકસ્માત નડ્યો હતો. આ અકસ્માતમાં વિષ્ણુનું ઘટનાસ્થળે જ મોત થયું હતું અને ક્રિશનું વડોદરાની ખાનગી હોસ્પિટલમાં સારવાર દરમિયાન મોત થયું હતું. આ મામલે મહેળાવ પોલીસે ગુનો નોંધીને વધુ તપાસ શરૂ કરી છે.
લક્ઝરી બસનો ડ્રાઇવર ફરાર વડોદરા શહેરનો 21 વર્ષીય યુવાન ક્રિશ ચૌહાણ અને વડોદરા પાસેના ગણપતપુરા ગામનો યુવાન વિષ્ણુ ઠાકોર મતાલજ મેલડી માતાના દર્શને ગયા હતા. બંને મિત્રો દર્શન કરીને બાઇક પર પરત વડોદરા આવવા માટે નીકળ્યા હતા. ક્રિશ ચૌહાણ બાઇક ચલાવી રહ્યો હતો અને વિષ્ણુ ઠાકોર તેની પાછળ બેઠો હતો, તેઓ જ્યારે પેટલાદના રવિપુરા રેલવે બ્રિજ પાસે પહોંચ્યા, તે સમયે તારાપુરથી આણંદ તરફ જઇ રહેલી લક્ઝરી બસે બાઇકને અડફેટે લીધી હતી. આ બનાવમાં વડોદરા પાસે આવેલા ગણપતપુરા ગામના વિષ્ણુ ઠાકોરના માથા પરથી બસનું ટાયર ફરી વળતા તેનું ઘટનાસ્થળે જ મોત થયું હતું. જ્યારે વડોદરાના ક્રિશ ચૌહાણને માથા અને પેટના ભાગે ઇજાઓ થતાં તેને સારવાર માટે વડોદરાની ખાનગી હોસ્પિટલમાં ખસેડવામાં આવ્યો હતો. જ્યાં સારવાર દરમિયાન તેનું પણ મોત થયું હતું. જેને પગલે ક્રિશનો પરિવાર શોકમાં ગરકાવ થઈ ગયો છે. અકસ્માત બાદ લક્ઝરી બસનો ચાલક ઘટનાસ્થળેથી ફરાર થઈ ગયો હતો.
મોટી સંખ્યામાં ટોળા ઉમટ્યા ક્રિસને જ્યારે વડોદરાના છાણી સ્થિત શ્રીજી હોસ્પિટલમાં લાવવામાં આવ્યો, તે સમયે મોટી સંખ્યામાં તેના સગા સંબંધીઓ અને મિત્રો ઉમટી પડ્યા હતા. ક્રિશના મૃતદેહને પોલીસે સયાજી હોસ્પિટલમાં મોકલી આપ્યો હતો.
મેલડી માતાના દર્શને ગયા હતા મૃતકના સંબંધી મનિષભાઇ મોહનભાઇ ચૌહાણે જણાવ્યું હતું કે, ક્રિશ અને તેના મિત્રો મલાતજ મેલડી માતાના દર્શને ગયા હતા. દર્શન કરીને તેઓ પરત ફરી રહ્યા હતા, તે સમયે રવિપુરા ગામ પાસે રેલવે બ્રિજ નજીક બસે બાઇકને ટક્કર મારી હતી. જેમાં ક્રિશ ગંભીર રીતે ઇજાગ્રસ્ત થયો હતો. જ્યાંથી અમને ફોન આવતા ઘટના અંગે જાણ થઈ હતી. જેથી ક્રિશને સ્થાનિક હોસ્પિટલમાં સારવાર આપવામાં આવી હતી અને બાદમાં વડોદરાની ખાનગી હોસ્પિટલમાં દાખલ કરવામાં આવ્યો હતો અને જ્યાં સારવાર દરમિયાન તેનું મોત થયું હતું.
મિત્ર માટે ક્રિશનું અંતિમ સ્ટેટ્સ મલાતજ મેલડી માતાના દર્શન કરીને બંને મિત્રો વડોદરા આવવા પરત નીકળ્યા, તે સમયે ક્રિશ ચૌહાણે તેના મિત્ર વિષ્ણુ ઠાકોરે તેના માટે સોશિયલ મીડિયા પર સ્ટેટ્સ મુક્યું હતું. જેમાં તેને ‘લવ યુ યારા’ના લખાણ અને ‘યાર કા હું મે દિવાના’ ગીત સાથેનો વીડિયો પોસ્ટ કર્યો હતો.
નવસારી જિલ્લામાં બદલાયેલા વાતાવરણને કારણે લાંબા સમયથી ખેડૂત મુશ્કેલીમાં મુકાયો છે આ વખતે માવઠાને કારણે કેરીની સિઝન મોડી શરૂ થઈ હતી,જેને કારણે શરૂઆતમાં કેરીના ભાવ આસમાને પહોંચ્યા હતા.જો કે વર્તમાન સ્થિતિની વાત કરવામાં આવે તો હાલમાં કેરીની બમ્પર આવક થતાં કેરીના ભાવ નીચા આવ્યા છે.જેનો સીધો ફાયદો ગ્રાહકો વેપારીઓ અને ખેડૂતોને થયો છે.
ભીમ અગિયારસને કારણે ખરીદીમાં ઘટાડો નોંધાયો છે, અત્યાર સુધી મધ્યમ વર્ગ કેરીના ઊંચા ભાવને કારણે ખરીદશક્તિ ઓછી હતી પરંતુ મે ના અંત સુધી કેરીના ભાવ નીચે આવતા ગ્રાહકોને 1000માં મણ સુધી મળી રહે છે. નવસારી જિલ્લાની અમલસાડ APMC પણ કેરીની પ્રતિદિન આવક 7000 મણ સુધી પહોંચી છે.
બાગાયતી પ્રદેશ ગણાતા ગણદેવી તાલુકાની આંબાવાડીઓમાં પણ કેરીની વધુ આવક જોવા મળી છે. જેના કારણે અમલસાડ મંડળી સંલગ્ન APMC માં રોજના 7000 મણથી વધુ કેરીની આવક જોવાઈ રહી છે. જેને કારણે કેરીના ભાવ ઘટ્યા છે, ખાસ કરીને કેસર 700 થી 1300 રૂપિયા સુધી અને હાફૂસ 1100 થી 1200 રૂપિયા સુધી મળી રહી છે. જ્યારે લંગડો અને દેશી કેરીની આવકમાં પણ વધારો થયો છે. ખાસ કરીને કેરીની વધુ આવકથી ખેડૂતોને ફાયદો થયો છે, પરંતુ ગરમી વેપારીઓ માટે ભાવમાં મુશ્કેલી ઉભી કરી રહી છે. કારણ અમલસાડથી રોજના રાજસ્થાન, દિલ્હી, પંજાબ, હરિયાણા જતા કેરીના બોક્ષમાં ગરમીને લીધે કેરી વહેલી પાકવાની સ્થિતિ બનતા બજારમાં યોગ્ય ભાવ ન મળવાને કારણે વેપારી ચિંતા મુકાયા છે. જોકે ખેડૂત અને વેપારીઓ વચ્ચે સ્થાનિક કેરી રસિયાઓને 200 થી 400 રૂપિયા કેરી સસ્તી મળતા રોજના કેરીની સ્વાદ માણી રહ્યા છે.

Darren Stanton, a body language and behavioral expert, observed that the Sussexes have a “telepathic connection” similar to the one between Prince William and Kate Middleton. Stanton noted that Harry and Meghan are not afraid to express their love and often display gestures of closeness and admiration. The expert stated that their glances during public events reveal a deep connection and a special way of communicating with each other.
Eye contact is another key indicator of the couple’s emotional bond. Stanton explained that Harry and Meghan often engage in prolonged eye contact, which signifies a deep level of connection and rapport. Meghan, in particular, excels in maintaining eye contact, demonstrating her focused attention on the person she is speaking to.
However, Stanton pointed out a major difference between the Sussexes and the Waleses—Harry and Meghan no longer have to adhere to strict royal protocols. While Kate and William have gradually shown more displays of affection, senior members of the family still have certain protocols to follow. In contrast, Harry and Meghan can freely express themselves without answering to the monarchy, allowing them to be completely authentic as a couple.
Reflecting on the Sussexes’ journey, Stanton noted that the couple has faced challenges but has grown stronger over the years. Trauma, stress, and major life events can strengthen the foundation of a relationship, and despite the changes and pressures they have encountered, Harry and Meghan have shown genuine emotion and resilience. Stanton believes that their relationship is destined to endure, with a commitment that transcends obstacles.
જાહેર માહિતી અધિકાર એક્ટ હેઠળ અધૂરી, અપૂરતી વિગતો આપવામાં આવતી હોવાની તો અનેક વખત રાવ ઉઠી છે પરંતુ, હાલ ફરિયાદીને જ તેની ફરિયાદ પર કરવામાં આવેલી કાર્યવાહીની વિગતો આપવામાં આવતી નહીં હોવાની ફરિયાદ ઉઠી છે. ગ્રાહક સુરક્ષા, ગ્રાહક સત્યાગ્રહ, ગ્રાહક ક્રાંતિએ કરેલી ફરિયાદ પર થયેલી કાર્યવાહીની વિગતો આપવાનો કાનૂની માપ વિજ્ઞાન અને ગ્રાહક સુરક્ષાની કચેરીના તાબા હેઠળના તોલમાપ ખાતાના જવાબદાર અધિકારીઓ દ્રારા ઇન્કાર કરી દીધો હતો. ત્રાહિત પક્ષકારને લગતી માહિતી હોવાથી ત્રાહિત પક્ષને જાણ કરી સામેથી મંજૂરી મળે તો માહિતી આપવામાં આવશે તેમ જણાવ્યું.
તોલમાપ વિભાગ પાસેથી ફરિયાદીએ ફરિયાદની વિગત માગી કોઇપણ સંસ્થા કે કંપની સામે કોઇપણ ગ્રાહક કે નાગરિક દ્રારા જે-તે સરકારી કચેરીઓમાં ફરિયાદ કરવામાં આવતી હોય છે. સામાન્ય રીતે સરકારી વિભાગમાં ફરીયાદ પર કોઇપણ વિભાગ તરફથી કાર્યવાહી કરવામાં આવે તો તેની જાણ ફરિયાદીને કરવામાં આવતી હોય છે પરંતુ, ગ્રાહક સુરક્ષા, ગ્રાહક સત્યાગ્રહ, ગ્રાહક ક્રાંતિ તરફથી પણ ગ્રાહકલક્ષી ફરિયાદો તોલમાપ ખાતામાં કરવામાં આવતી હોય છે પરંતુ, આ વિભાગ તરફથી સંસ્થાને કરવામાં આવેલી કાર્યવાહીની જાણ કરવામાં આવતી નહીં હોવાથી ગ્રાહક સુરક્ષા, ગ્રાહક સત્યાગ્રહ, ગ્રાહક ક્રાંતિ તરફથી જાહેર માહિતી અધિકાર એક્ટ હેઠળ અરજી કરીને તોલમાપ વિભાગ પાસેથી પોતે કરેલી ફરિયાદમાં શું કાર્યવાહી કરવામાં આવી તેની વિગતો માંગી હતી.
RTIની કલમોનો સહારો લઈ માહિતી આપવાની ના પાડી આ અંગે ગ્રાહક સુરક્ષા, ગ્રાહક સત્યાગ્રહ, ગ્રાહક ક્રાંતિના પ્રમુખ સુચિત્રા પાલે જણાવ્યું છે કે, અમદાવાદના કાનૂની માપ વિજ્ઞાન અને ગ્રાહક સુરક્ષા કચેરીને કોઇપણ વ્યક્તિ કે ફરીયાદી પક્ષ પોતે RTI કરી જાહેર હિતમાં માહિતી માગે તો ફરિયાદીને પોતાની ફરીયાદ અંગે થયેલી કાર્યવાહી તથા લેવાયેલા પગલાં અંગે જાણવાનો પૂરેપૂરો હક્ક છે પરંતુ, તોલમાપ ખાતાના અધિકારીઓ RTI એક્ટની કલમ-11 તથા તેની પેટા કલમોના બહાને ગુનેગારોને છાવરવા તથા ભૂલો પર ઢાંકપિછોડો કરવા તથા પોતાની નબળી કામગીરી વિશાળ હિતમાં જાહેર ના થાય તે હેતુથી મૂળ ફરિયાદીને પણ માહિતી આપતાં નથી.
જાહેર હિતને ધ્યાનમાં રાખી માહિતી આપી શકાય – દિલ્હી હાઇકોર્ટ તેમણે ગ્રાહક કોર્ટોના જુદા જુદા ચુકાદાઓને ટાંકીને જણાવ્યું છે કે, RTIની કલમ-11 મુજબ માંગેલ માહિતી ત્રાહિત વ્યક્તિઓ સંબંધિત હોવા છતાં પણ વિશાળ હિતમાં આપી શકાય તેવું ચુકાદામાં નક્કી થયું છે. માહિતી જાહેર કરવાથી તેનો દુરપયોગ થશે તેવી દહેશત માત્રથી માહિતી જાહેર ન કરવાનું વાજબી માની શકાય નહીં તેવો પણ દિલ્હી હાઇકોર્ટનો ચુકાદો છે અને માંગેલ માહિતી ત્રાહિત પક્ષકારને લગતી ખાનગી પ્રકારની હોય તો પણ ત્રાહિત પક્ષકારને રૂબરુ સાંભળીને માહિતી આપવા અંગે વિશાળ જાહેર હિતને ધ્યાનમાં રાખી નિર્ણય કરી શકાય પરંતુ, તોલમાપ ખાતાના જવાબદાર અધિકારીઓ દ્રારા ઇન્કાર કરી દીધો હત ફક્ત એટલું જ નહીં પરંતુ, ત્રાહિત પક્ષકારને લગતી માહિતી હોવાથી ત્રાહિત પક્ષને જાણ કરી સામેથી મંજુરી મળે તો માહિતી આપવામાં આવશે તેમ જણાવ્યું છે.
કલમોનું ખોટુ અર્થઘટન કરીને જાણકારી ન આપવાનો પ્રયાસ ગ્રાહક સુરક્ષા, ગ્રાહક સત્યાગ્રહ, ગ્રાહક ક્રાંતિના પ્રમુખ સૂચિત્રા પાલે જણાવ્યું છે કે, નેશનલ હેન્ડલૂમ કોર્પોરેશન- શાહીબાગ, અમદાવાદમાંથી વેચાતી પ્રોડક્ટ કીંગ્સ ગેટ લંડનના વેચાણમાં લિગત મેટ્રોલોજી પેકેજડ કોમોડીટીઝ રૂલ્સ 2011ના નિયમોનો ભંગ થતો હોવાથી અમોએ ખુદે ફરિયાદ આપી હતી. તે જ રીતે સંતોષ ગેસ એજન્સી- ચાંદલોડિયામાંથી ડીલિવરી માટે લઇ જવાતા ગેસના સિલિન્ડરના વજન ઘટ અંગે પણ તેમણે ફરિયાદ આપી હતી પરંતુ, અમો ફરિયાદીને કોઇપણ બાબતની જાણ કરી ન હતી. જેથી અમોએ આ બાબતે થયેલ કાર્યવાહી જાણવા માહિતી માંગતા કોઇપણ માહિતી પુરી પાડી ન હતી. અવારનવાર ઘણી બધી ફરિયાદો પર કામગીરી કરવામાં આવતી હોવા છતાં પણ ગુનેગારો સામે કરેલી કાર્યવાહી જાહેર કરવામાં તોલમાપ ખાતાના અધિકારીઓને શરમ નડતી હોય તેવું લાગે છે. વારંવાર ફરિયાદીઓ તથા આરટીઆઇ એકટીવીસ્ટને માંગેલી માહિતી પુરી પાડવી ના પડા તેટલા માટે માહિતી અધિકારીના કાયદાની કલમોનું ખોટું અર્થઘટન કરી કરેલી કાર્યવાહીની જાણકારી લોકો સુધી ના પહોંચે તેવા ભરપુર પ્રયત્નો કરવામાં આવે છે.
શું કોઈ ગુનેગાર ગુનાની વિગતો જાહેર કરવા સંમતિ આપે ખરા? ગ્રાહકોની ફરિયાદ અન્વયે તથા પોતાની નિયત થયેલી જવાબદારીના ભાગરૂપે સ્થળ ચકાસણી કરી કાર્યવાહી કરતાં હોવાનું RTIના જવાબમાં જણાવે છે પરંતુ, કરેલી કાર્યવાહી અંગેની સ્પષ્ટ વિગતો જેવા કે નામ, સરનામા, ગુના સહિત થયેલ સજા કે વસૂલવામાં આવેલા દંડ અંગેની માહિતી માંગવા છતાં પણ આપવામાં આવતી નથી. આમ ફરીયાદી ગ્રાહકને કરેલી ફરિયાદ અંગે થયેલ કાર્યવાહી અંગે જાણવાનો પુરેપુરો હક્ક હોવા છતાં માહિતી પુરી પાડવામાં આવતી નથી. એક તરફ સરકાર તરફથી ગ્રાહક જાગૃતિ દિને ‘જાગો ગ્રાહક જાગો’ના સૂત્ર આપે છે. બીજી તરફ એ જ સરકારી વિભાગ જાગેલાં ગ્રાહકને જવાબ આપવાની તસ્દી સુધ્ધાં લેતાં નથી. એટલું જ નહીં પરંતુ ફરીયાદી જવાબ માંગે ત્યારે તેમને ત્રાહિત પક્ષકારને લગતી માહિતી હોવાથી ત્રાહિત પક્ષને જાણ કરી સામેથી મંજુરી મળ્યેથી જ માહિતી આપવામાં આવશે તેમ જણાવે છે. તો શું કોઇ ગુનેગાર પોતાની વિરુધ્ધની વિગતો જાહેર કરવા માટે સંમંતિ આપે ખરા ? આ રીતે પરોક્ષ રીતે માહીતી આપતાં નથી.
Indian Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari on Wednesday called for the development of a smaller version of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile for smaller fighter jets such as the MiG-29, Mirage 2000 and the indigenous light combat aircraft, stressing that the weapon can be used effectively for land attack.

Currently, only the IAF’s Sukhoi-30MKI fighters are equipped with the air-launched version of the BrahMos, a 2.5-tonne missile that flies at nearly three times the speed of sound. The smaller missile, BrahMos-Next Generation, is expected to weigh 1.2 tonnes and be more lethal than the current air-launched version, officials aware of the matter said.
“Achieving this milestone (the development of the BrahMos-NG missile) will be one of the biggest leaps that we can achieve in Atmanirbharta,” Chaudhari said at an event organised to mark the silver jubilee of BrahMos Aerospace, an India-Russia joint venture.
The air force had initially planned to modify 40 Su-30 fighters to carry the missile, but today the entire Su-30 fleet has been modified to carry the BrahMos, the officials said.
“As the situation unfolded along the Northern borders (where India and China have been locked in a border row) three years ago, we realised that the potent weapon can be used very effectively for land attack. Today we have BrahMos modified aircraft (Su-30s) in all squadrons across the IAF,” the IAF chief said.
He described the missile as one of the air force’s most lethal air combat assets.
“The missile has really galvanised the way we will equip ourselves with precision firepower in the coming years. Seeing the conflicts that are happening across the globe, the importance of precision, long- range firepower can’t be underscored,” Chaudhari said.
He said the Su-30-BrahMos combo had enhanced the IAF’s firepower and increased its deterrence value by leaps and bounds.
Developing BrahMos-NG should be a focus area, he said.
“This is an area where we really need to focus our energy and apply our scientific minds to develop a smaller weapon with the same reach and lethality. This could be taken as one of the challenges in your journey towards your 50th anniversary,” he said.
In January 2020, India upgraded its capabilities to keep a watch on the strategically important IOR and deliver an offensive option swiftly, if necessary, with the IAF basing its Su-30 fighters in southern India for the first time.
IAF raised the new squadron of Su-30 MKI fighter jets at the Thanjavur air force station in Tamil Nadu. The fighters are equipped with the air-launched version of the BrahMos missile. It provides IAF the capability to strike sea and land targets from stand-off ranges with pinpoint accuracy in all weather conditions.
The missile’s land and naval variants are 500 kg heavier than the current air version.
“The existing BrahMos missile was designed almost 25 years ago. The NG variant will use the latest design tools, materials, electronics and futuristic aerostructures. It will be lighter and faster than the current air-launched version, and will significantly boost the IAF’s capabilities,” said former BrahMos Aerospace CEO Sudhir Mishra.
Atmanirbharta does not mean that India will produce everything indigenously, said chief of defence staff General Anil Chauhan, who also spoke at the same function.
“That’s not possible for a developing nation like us. So we will establish different kinds of joint ventures and BrahMos is one such venture. It has been a big success story in Atmanirbharta and has fortified India’s deterrence power. The missile system has been successfully operationalised by the three services and is truly a Brahmastra of its times,” Chauhan added.
